Sorry for coming only now, I've just arrived home after almost 8 hours between airports and planes (I live far far away from São Paulo). Unfortunately I couldn't join the group to see the boys in the hotel because I was with my boyfriend (and he hates Coldplay) and he was already going to the concert with me it was too much to ask to go to the hotel... Anyway I feel that part of me was there with people from ColdplayBR.com and I feel almost as happy as them!! And, of course, listening to their s

Loved by millions, hated by just as many it’s Coldplay with the third single from the ridiculously huge ‘X & Y’, ‘Talk’. Trendy scensters crucify me if you will, but beneath it’s sleeky clean façade, this is actually pretty affecting stuff, buoyed by a stunning melody. Ahem, I’ll get me coat. Admittedly, if you dislike Coldplay for all their MORness and the superficial, shallow tabloid obsession for Chris Martin and his megastar wife, you’ll clearly hate this. But for the rest of us we’ll

Well I can’t believe it’s over. Several weeks ago I had an idea to try to do something special on the last night of the US leg of the CP tour…to say thank you and to show the guys how much their music means to their fans in the US. In the end I met some great people who showed great committment and determination to help my idea come to life. To the friends I have made I say a big thank you for your efforts…I think we accomplished what we set out to do. The night started off great our meeting i

Chris was very ill for the performance with a cold, congestion and throat problems…definitely did NOT want to be there, but bravo to him and Jonny for making a go of it, making us laugh and playing a few songs for the 95 of us that were there. Show started with Chris announcing he was ill, followed by a performance of Til Kingdom Come/Ring of Fire Medley. The host of the show chose me to ask the first question during the first of three Q&A sessions (I had mentioned to her earlier that I’

Years of silence have hardly dulled Fiona Apple's intensity. She's back, wielding it like a sharp knife. Remember Fiona Apple? She was the sulky teenager with the big watery blue eyes who condemned the music industry for being shallow while she made scintillating videos that showed her romping around in her panties. She railed against ex-boyfriends and the Butterball turkey people with equal venom, and spoke openly about being raped at age 12. Following the 1999 release of her second album, "W

For any deranged, obsessive, able-to-recognise-the-drummer-in-a-crowd Coldplay completists out there, here's every single and their B-sides collected together in a seven-inch box-set - surely like releasing every deleted scene from Last Of The Summer Wine in a special edition bathtub on wheels. Fascinating to recall just how soggy-trousered and Radiohead they were on ultra-rare debut 'The Blue Room EP' and to hear them grow from wafty indie shamblebums to arena-teabagging monsters by 'Yellow'.

Plus Editors and Primal Scream shine on the second day at Seachange Park Foo Fighters headlined the second night of the Nokia Isle Of Wight Festival this evening (June 10). Dave Grohl led his band through a ear-shattering set that included monster rockers like 'Times Like These', 'DOA' and 'In Your Honour'. Grohl, who had earlier watched performances by Editors and The Kooks was up for some inter-band banter with the other bands on the bill, jokingly taking on Primal Scream during his band's

It was the climax of their 80-date Twisted Logic world tour adn the sense of occasion is palpable on this download. Chris Brown was the big winner at the 2008 American Music Awards Sunday night (November 23rd) taking home the Artist Of The Year award. Brown said, “I would have gave it to Coldplay. I’m at a loss for words. I just want to thank all the fans, I really love you with all my heart.” Brown also won for Best Male Soul/R&B artist and Best Male Pop/Rock Artist. Coldplay started out the night with four nominations, but they failed to win a single award. In addition to Artist Of The Year, they were

‘Thank you everyone for waiting for us’ are Chris Martin’s first words to the already fired-up Nokia Isle of Wight Festival revellers. Clearly, most people are actually here to see this English world-wide sensation anyway. But Chris and the other members in Coldplay don’t care. They know where they’re from and they also know who got them where they are right now; at the pinnacle of musical superstardom. This is the culmination of three days of music in the sun – a festival experience you norm

Forget Clocks, Chris Martin gazed into a stopwatch to help him unwind and come up with ideas. The Coldplay legend went into a trance in a bid to make the latest album Prospekt even more successful than the last offering X&Y. Frontman Chris, who has previously admitted he feels under pressure to produce hit records, sought the help of a hypnotist to ensure new LP 'Prospekt' lives up to success of their last one 'X&Y'. He said: "We feel like we have so much to prove and so many ideas tha

Coldplay have confirmed Brian Eno is working on their next album. The legendary producer and musician is famous for his work with Roxy Music, U2 and David Bowie - and guitarist Jonny Buckland let slip news of the band’s new signing at last week’s Arcade Fire gig. He said: “We feel that he picked us really, rather than we picked him. If you can persuade him to work with you then you must be doing quite well.” However, frontman Chris Martin was more careful — knowing one word from him can sen

If you've been on a different planet for the last 7 days, here's a recap of what you need to know about Coldplay's forthcoming studio projects... Just before hitting the road again for their current European tour, Coldplay stopped by BBC Radio's "6 Music" for a sit-down in which they revealed their next studio projects. The chat was with "6 Music" host Steve Lamacq [pictured] and, for some reason, R.E.M. frontman and friend of Coldplay Michael Stipe. When Stipe asked Coldplay frontman Chris Ma

Coldplay, who have been steadily releasing tidbits about their forthcoming follow-up to 2005's 'X&Y,' have announced that while they're still wrestling with songs, they are already planning out their 2008 tour and will hit the road next year on a tour to coincide with the release of their fourth album, report Spinner.com and the Daily Star.
