Coldplay's second single from the Mylo Xyloto album, Paradise, is currently sitting top of the midweek singles chart in the UK and is only days away from being the first UK no.1 single of 2012, according to reports tonight. Coldplay's last no.1 UK single was coincidentally the second single from the last album, the title track Viva la Vida, back on 22nd June 2008.
The Official Charts Company have released confirmation that Coldplay are currently at no.1 with Paradise, and are just ahead of Olly Murs, who is currently at no.2 with his single 'Dance With Me Tonight'. Last week's chart topper Military Wives are at no.3 with 'Wherever You Are', while Flo Rida and X Factor winners Little Mix are set to be at no.4 and no.5 respectively.
The Military Wives Choir may have held the No. 1 Christmas single but Coldplay has knocked them out of the top spot mid-week, and Paradise, which was originally released back in September previously peaked on the Official Singles Chart at Number 2, is currently in the lead.
