[X&Y] Coldplay Keep On Keepin' On In 2006

Coldplay's X&Y has been certified triple-platinum for selling more than 300,000 copies in Canada since last year, but the British band have a lot more in store for Canadian fans in 2006.

You can now visit the Canadian iTunes Music Store to download any or all of the six songs that the group performed on the PBS television program Austin City Limits in December. "Square One" and "X&Y," which didn't make it to the TV show, are also available.

Coldplay's current single, "Talk," has hit #1 on the Canadian rock and modern rock radio charts. Three new mixes of the song from The Thin White Duke, Francois K and Junkie XL will be made available at the iTunes store on February 7.Coldplay performed two sold-out shows in Vancouver last month and will have three more sellouts on their hands in Ottawa and Toronto next month. After warming up with televised performances at the Grammy and Brit Awards shows this month, Coldplay will appear on CTV's Juno Awards broadcast on April 2.

The British pop-rockers have built a strong Canadian fan base this decade. Their Parachutes debut went double-platinum, 2002's A Rush Of Blood To The Head was certified quadruple-platinum and their Live 2003 DVD has sold more than 80,000 units.
