@spraycan: yeah,i have seen it somewhere,though THE HARDEST PART is finding out where it is... I think that earlier comment about 'external pressure' makes sense as regards their dislike towards songs from X&Y. However I want to ask,are there any stories behind X&Y,AMSTERDAM & 42? Because the lyrics of those songs are not cognate with their titles...

It almost feels like I've known everyone here forever... Seeing you guys "TALK" about Coldplay with such gusto gives me great joy... To spice things up a little,I suggest anything we want to comment on from here on must include a title from a Coldplay song highlighted in CAPITAL letter,like I just did in the first paragraph of this post. I hope this catches on with all the lovely folks here....

@diogo: You misconstrue the "crap" comment wasn't about "dissing" coldplay.Like I said,it was rhetorical and was meant to show a connection between coldplay at present "a sky full of stars",the future "a head full of dreams" and the general perception on how most Coldplay hits are considered "crap"... @paa1988: Let's just say the only part I can manage in "Trouble" is "they spun a web for me"... I have tried to listen to it over and over again,I just don't like it.Sometimes I wonder why Gatorade ever wanted to use that song in their advert... By the way,why do you dislike "Speed Of Sound"? I consider that song as one of their finest...

@ov3la: I never said the next album would be worse,I was only quoting in context what I garnered from some "C-Oldplayers" here...

So,if all these songs which I fancy are considered "crap" by most,then you can understand my trouble in trying to strike a balance as to what is generally considered "Coldplayish". Which is why I when I hear a post-AROBTTH song branded as sub-par,I tend to assume that such comments are from older fans who have probably observed the "decline". I know I may not be considered a "true fan" by most.I only recently started listening to Coldplay intensively,I have never been to a show and I have never bought an album-thanks to the world wide web,where you can get anything free.I never even knew that "Violet Hill" was a society themed songs[tips hat to "i ran away" and another who I can't remember],I don't what "B-Side" actually means,as well as the difference between EP and LP.I don't know who or what Stargate is,and from what has been bandied about here,they don't sound likable... My point is,I'm a novice who just loves Coldplay for good or ill,all the analysis in the world won't change that... Peace!

Remember when I started this thread,the idea was to poll and find out what Coldplay songs were least liked among fans.I generally assumed that most people would tow the same line and go for similar songs.Turns out there are folks who don't like: -A Sky Full Of Stars -Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall -Princess Of China -High Speed -Charlie Brown -Major Minus -Ink -O -Magic -A Message -Amsterdam -Spies -Twisted Logic -X&Y etc... I'm not making this up.Just run through this thread again and check for yourself.I'm sure I missed out on a huge list of songs in fact... Even going by some comments listed here,there seems to be a consensus that the next album will be worse,in terms of quality and lyrics,than the preceding albums.From what I gather,Coldplay has been on the "decline" since X&Y. This bothers me because my best Coldplay songs are post the "decline",and if Oldplayers here think otherwise then that says a lot about my taste in music....

@the adversary:you are obviously older than me... I reckon that you are in your 30's or early 40's judging by your songs which are from the earlier albums. I'm in my mid 20's which may influence my choice of songs. Also,a top 10 is kind of hard,i'm more of a top 30 person...however 10 songs that will definitely make my list are below... Here goes... -Amsterdam -A Message -Christmas Lights -Speed Of Sound -Lovers In Japan -Ink -Yes -Princess Of China -I Ran Away -Glass Of Water My best album is X&Y by a mile,though I deliberately left out most of my better liked songs and tried a more wholistic approach to the list....

@the adversary: if it isn't too much work,would you please oblige me with your top 10 coldplay tracks,as well as your best album?

@howyousawtheworld:considering miracles was a soundtrack,i dnt think it did too badly. i also thnk that you got bored of some of d songs[case in point,true love]. i dnt thnk it counts to include a once loved song on the list. poc? im tired of defending it. i thnk the real grouse is with the choice of rihanna than with the song itself. poc rocks imho...

On the subject of Coldplay,i've always wondered why they only ever won just one grammy for "Clocks"..... Does anyone have any ideas why this is so?

To say I'm shell shocked does not even begin to describe how I feel... Maybe it's because of geography.I'm 4rm Nigeria,and coldplay isn't a big deal here...i'm yet to meet up to 5 people here who are as crazy about coldplay as i am... Anyways i'm pretty sure that the standout coldplay songs which many of you dislike are among the favorite coldplay songs that many folks here listen to e.g P.O.C,PARADISE,LOST,MAGIC,SPEED OF SOUND,etc... Anyway i get that people have their different opinions,but my word,I AM TRULY SHOCKED!

I think some people may have just missed the fact that this thread is actually about a list of least liked coldplay songs...

@batman,how can you dislike "a message"? that song is like a poster for coldplay...like if i needed to pick a song for smone who has nt heard chris b4,dat song would be a gr8 pick...besides most of ur other disliked songs are some of my favorites..... What a world!!

@a2iel: A change of scenery might do.Rather than the "Cemeteries Of London",have you checked out "Amsterdam"? Travelling at the "Speed Of Sound" you may get there at "1:36" this morning and if you worry that you may crash,"Don't Panic",i've got "Parachutes",besides "You only live twice" so you don't have to take off in "Such A Rush" as though you were "Moving to Mars".I've got "The Scientist" working on the aircraft so we can soar at "High Speed","Up with the birds"... By the way,"Charlie Brown" will be keeping the "Clocks" running,would be a shame to lose track of time except you think it's "Only Superstition". I also hope we can visit the "Princess Of China" and get her autograph in red "Ink".I promise that when return,you'll feel the "Magic" that comes from travelling across the "Oceans".And no,this isn't me telling a "Ghost Story",it's what you'll experience as we fly across "A Sky Full of Stars"....
