  1. @WeddingDom: i feel like entering your mind and performing "inception" on you... All the songs on ur dishonorable mentions list are absolutely great[except 4 odd to deodorant which i wouldn't know of cos ive not heard it]...
  2. @I ran away:I never knew Violet Hill was society-themed,when i heard "if you love me won't you let me know",i just assumed it was a love song, tnx for enlightening me. Clocks is kind of tiring for me.Never clicked with it at 1st,then I later liked it,now it's just meh...
  3. @ov3la: I absolutely love 42! The song shares similar attributes with Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" in the sense that it has no chorus... The song combines 3 different parts and then does a full circle by returning to the 1st verse in the end... "Those who are dead are not dead, they're just living in my head oo..ooh"
  4. @i ran away: violet hill? really??
  5. So if you don't dislike any Coldplay song presently, was there ever a time you disliked a Coldplay track that you eventually came to like?
  6. Talking about least liked songs,I once disliked "Moving To Mars".I think the intro where Chris comes in with a deep tone and low pitch made me dislike it,so I always skipped it on my playlist. One day however,I was listening to my playlist while my hands were busy typing.I was too busy to skip the song so I just let it play on.Turned out that the song wasn't as hopeless as I imagined.I still listen to it to this day...
  7. Cheer up now would you? "Don't let it break your heart",it's only a matter of time before we have "A Sky Full Of Stars"...
  8. @jc90:I thought twisted logic was awesome the 1st time I heard it.As a matter of fact I always imagine i'm in an Orwellian world only this time, big brother is replaced by A.I and super robots or super computers who pry on everything you do.I think twisted logic and major minus are somewhat related in meaning, though I stand corrected...
  9. Well, let's just say they're all bored of Earth and are "Moving To Mars"...
  10. Based on what i've observed so far,I think Mylo Xyloto is the least liked Coldplay album.X&Y is a song I like because it's kind of bland and yet awesome in an uncanny way.I know it sounds paradoxical, but that's my honest assessment of it...
  11. We're kindred spirits, though some may regards this way of thinking as "Only Superstition"...
  12. Let's not get too excited here, lest we find ourselves back at "Square One"...
  13. @the adversary: "O" i see...
  14. @ov3la:I've never actually seen the music video of "life in technicolour ii" and from what you're saying, maybe I never will... However the ending of that song still rings in my ears: "Gravity release me and don't ever hold me down Now my feet won't touch the ground"
  15. @joueur,that's why we are here...let's TALK...[does it count if I repeat a song title already mentioned? Would like to know, wouldn't want to be LOST...]
  16. @I ran away: Do you think about me now & then cos i'm coming home again! Lovely stuff, chris killed the chorus! @a2riel: what can i say? Ostensibly we don't think alike do we?
  17. @j.c 90,that was my point actually. Thanks for clarifying that.
  18. @The Adversary: apparently u've been a fan for long. The 1st coldplay song I ever heard was 'in my place',through a friend. It was nice but I didn't pay it much attention. Then several years later,i heard princess of china, and i luvd it.Then came paradise, major minus, every teardrop...etc. Soon I decided to focus on Coldplay.I was originally a big Kanye fan,but he did stuff dat got me tired of him. Anyways i heard other songs like talk, low, speed of sound, amsterdam, yellow, the scientist, etc and i became a fan.But the point to note is that all this happened, thanks to the much derided 'princess of china'. If not for that song,i'd never have been a coldplay fan.So while coldplay may have 'deviated',i still think that changing times call for changing measures, and these flexibility is what has endeared millions of fans around the world to coldplay.
  19. @batman,if you think "Reign of love" is bad,how about "Chinese sleep chant"?
  20. @Joiuer Froid: "DON'T PANIC","HELP IS AROUND THE CORNER"...
  21. I've got one. She's the Princess Of China...
  22. Hope this thread makes it past "Midnight"...
  23. @i ran away: What? Amsterdam??? That's song is in my top 5 greatest coldplay songs.Admittedly the song has little to do with Amsterdam except for the fact that it was where Chris wrote it.Also the beginning of the song is kinda slow, but that's the beauty of it.It crescendoes to a lovely finale at the end: "Stuck on the end of this ball and chain I'm on my way back down again Stood on the edge tied to a noose Sick to the stomach You can say what you mean But it won't change a thing I'm of the secrets Stood on the edge, tied to a noose You came along and you cut me loose" What A Song!!!
  24. @diogo: i guess it's different strokes for different folks, maybe i'l like midnight 10 years from now... @sparky: i absolutely love high speed, how dare you!!! i agree with you about the rest though...
  25. @a2iel: i think the key to some coldplay songs is in the title...'death will never conquer','death and all his friends' e.t.c...here the keyword is 'death' so expect to be bored to death... "Til kingdom come" is one song i partly like. The reason is,after i listen repeatedly to the more likeable coldplay songs,i hook up with it so i don't get constipated on the good songs. e.g after listening to amsterdam, ink,a message like 10 times...i then switch to 'til kingdom come'...
