No big deal. No matter what you might think of X&Y, they have many more albums to come.

Same here - I liked parachutes and love rush of blood, but so far the only song I have gotten into on X&Y is the title track. I am going to give it repeated listens over the course of the next week, and hope that it grows on me. The reason I don't like it so far is simply that the melodies/rhythms aren't engaging enough. I am not much of a lyrics person, so I can't comment on that aspect.

did everyone love it from the start? Or was it at first rejected as not up to the standard of parachutes.

Right now it is the hardest part. I am listening to it constantly though, so i will probably get tired of it.

I don't know, up until now I had preferred the old leaked one by far. But I woke up today and listened to the new version, and it is really beginning to grow on me.

Actually I believe in a recent interview chris martin said something to the effect of, "this is the album you will want to listen to when you just broke up with your girlfiend".

Am I the only one who thinks this song is completely awesome? The "floating on a tidal wave" part is reminiscent of beatles song, strawberry fields maybe.

Well, my lists are completely different from yours, but overall I can't judge X&Y yet based on just a few days. It takes me a couple weeks to really get to know each of the individual songs on an album. And the true test for me is whether like rush of blood i am still enthusiastically listening to it months later. But why just compare to coldplay's own work? What about OK computer, and Joshua Tree? I don't think it measures up to either of those, but like I said I have to give it time to be sure.

I still like clocks, daylight, god put a smile and shiver better than anything on this album. But, both parachutes and rush of blood took me a week to fully appreciate, so I cant really say for sure.

For me it's a message and white shadows ...although i cant say im dissapointed with the "unknown" tracks so far, x&y and swalled in the sea are really good

To be fair, I think the strategy of putting up a page that effectively says "it will be uploaded in 5 minutes, check back for updates" is a bad way to discourage refreshing.
