Random Coldplay thoughts...
It really makes you appreciate Coldplay for doing an album for like every stage of life... the ups and downs

Random Coldplay thoughts...
Wow I have always felt Amsterdam was severely underrated.. and even though I haven't been in that position, the memories I hold with Amsterdam are amongst the strongest (if not the strongest) of all Coldplay songs. This part always gets me: "Stood on the edge, tied to the noose And you came along and you cut me loose You came along and you cut me loose"

===The ultimate Oldplaying Thread===S, BS, TBR, P, AROBTTH, X&Y, VLV, PM===
It's tough for me to decide which type of music listener I am, but I generally tend to favor melody -> atmosphere -> style of voice (if there is such) and theeeeen I start paying attention to the lyrics. However, the first time I listened to The Scientist I loved it, not because it had mind blowing music or even a powerful message, but because it was so simple, so raw, so emotional.. just the way each instrument complemented Chris' melancholic tone with such perfection and the way Will subtly backs up with vocals which leads up to Johnny just keeping it classic on the riffs and then all of them meshing and ending in a smooth yet moving way... man idk, I might not listen to that song as much as I did sometime in my life, but to me it will always remain one of the most classic and beloved Coldplay songs to date. But yeah I guess its like you say, all a matter of taste because I also hold X&Y in a similar top place but with a different perspective on it. Cheers

What's your favourite song of kaleidoscope?
Although AICTAIY is my favourite from KEP, I must say I have found myself listening to ALIENS more and more lately

Coldplay: Connections with the Illuminati? (This thread not to be taken seriously)
Haha well yeah I do agree that we shouldn't delve too much into these sorta stuff as there's not much to get out of it on an individual perspective, and I'm honestly far from the sort of person who spends on these sort of subjects, but I can't say I'm completely uninterested. As much as I would just want to live on and enjoy life, there is too much corruption going on and that makes me uneasy. Maybe I can't or won't make a change in this world, but to me, it would be nice to try and spread some truth to raise awareness and bring down those who abuse their powers for their own agendas in favor of people with better intentions. Kinda sounds corny af, but it's been bugging my mind lately lol. However, I doubt there's anything in this world that would keep me from enjoying Coldplay and if they're some kind of evil wizard bunch then so be it ;)

Coldplay: Connections with the Illuminati? (This thread not to be taken seriously)
Hahaha these are hella funny. On a thoughtful perspective though, what if the term "illuminati" is just something the media themselves have revived and spread to make their real agenda seem laughable? Although it's hard to imagine a band like Coldplay related to any of this, what if we've become desensitised enough to just not see what's actually happening? Anybody know about the bystander effect? Social media and the entertainment industry has really become so crucial in our daily lives that whenever something serious actually happens, everyone gets upset but simply waits for somebody else to respond or act while we carry on with our daily lives. If you really look into most of these conspiracies, there really is something going on behind most of the crazy stuff that seems to be portrayed. Pizzagate, "blood contracts", banking systems... it's all weirdly related and the power behind them is definitely real. I have no idea what is going to happen nor will I despair thinking about all this stuff, but maybe we do need to pay more attention to the crazy stuff that's been going on and all these subliminal messages. On a side note though, if it so happens that there really is some sort of agenda, we just gotta remain strong on our beliefs and not let the media or press drive our directions in life. We gotta stay true to ourselves. Anyways, it's always entertaining looking up at all these weird connections and solving mysterious puzzles even if it's all one BIG coincidence.

What is your favourite Coldplay song today?
Tonight, I have truly been enjoying the mysterious and ghostly sounds from Oceans, Midnight, Always in my head, Fly on (specially that reprise), and Ghost Story. Also, Guy's bass in Magic has really been quite pleasant to listen to at this particular moment. Been studying constantly throughout this summer so it has been a welcoming surprise to get to appreciate Ghost Stories in a way I honestly had not when it came out couple years ago. These tracks have put my nerves to sleep in times where I needed to relax and contemplate. Well, just wanted to share that lol

Although I am aware that X&Y tends to be considered the weakest album out of the oldplay records, it holds a strong space in my heart. The spacey feeling and Chris's soothing and smooth voice all over the tracks just makes it really memorable for me, and even though I think AROBTTH is my favourite of their albums, X&Y gives me somewhat more nostalgia overall. Somehow, I do quite enjoy those "boring" moments as some may say, but it's the feeling and retrospection each songs brings to my life. And that also includes the B-sides! I ran away, things I don't understand, How you see the world, Gravity, etc. are simply classic Coldplay songs in my opinion which share that distinctive deep nostalgic space rock sound that satisfies my ears and insights to say the least haha. Although I love that raw sound Parachutes and AROBTTH brings, that perfectionist X&Y sound was the first album that I first convinced my best friend with that Coldplay was really good and I just remember us listening to the whole thing without skipping one song and telling ourselves after what an amazing record we had ourselves in our hands. Maybe I'm biased and letting my nostalgia take over, but songs like Swallowed in the sea, X&Y, Fix You, Speed, etc really makes it hard for me to think this could be their "weakest" one yet out of those. I guess it all comes to personal taste and memories related to it but I do get your point which I wouldn't say is least popular.
