  1. I didn't see Richard Ashcroft, no, but they were with lots of other people and I was totally surprised to see Guy so I first wanted to figure out if it was really him - it's definitely possible that Richard was with him as well :D
  2. I guess they just gave such a stupid answer because the question was quite stupid as well ^^ Just imagine you get asked such a question, with no reference to the artist at all, I mean.. What do Belle&Sebastian have to do with Coldplay and why should they care about the rings Chris is wearing? Weird question --> weird answer!
  3. Erm, to be honest with you, I don't like Tim's lyrics THAT much.. Maybe it's also Tom's voice but most of them sound a bit too cheesy for me.. Although I love "Walnut Tree", that's a fantastic song! All in all I think that Tim simply writes more "pop" melodies and lyrics and Chris' style is totally different, so who knows what would have become of the lyrics if they both would work together. It would be a nice idea of Chris and Tim working together in the future, wouldn't it? They could write a song together, I'd be curious to see what would come out!
  4. Yeah I know the song, I've even got it on my computer. I think it once came up here in the Multimedia section one day..
  5. I guess this board changed a lot for me. First of all, I found almost all my b-sides and live songs on here and I also feel a lot better since I'm here because here I see so many people being devoted to the same music/band as me and that cheers me up because I don't have any friends in my area liking the same kind of music. It also made me spending more time on the internet. Just because of this board and all the information I got on here, I decided building up my own Coldplay fansite, just for fun, and I still enjoy editing it. In addition, I think it's a good practice for my English to improve! Well, and when it comes to the attitute towards Coldplay, I guess I see them more like normal people now. You read so much about them on here, I feel like I know so many things I haven't known before, so.. I feel a lot closer to them, you know?
  6. Well, however you wanna call it ^^ A lounge, a location, whatever.. The place where VIPs hang out I guess.
  7. I just watched the Austrian TV channel ORF, reporting live from the British Grand Prix (Formula 1) in Silverstone. Anyway, they showed a reporter interviewing a former Formula 1 driver and in the background, I saw Guy with his VERY pregnant wife Joanna, walking into the house you see on the left of the picture below!! Guy was wearing a black t-shirt and Joanna wore a lovely brown dress - I didn't see her from the front but I saw Guy's curly hair and his face for a second and the big belly of his wife proved that it was them :D Maybe we'll find more pictures somewhere on the web - I think it's really cool that they are interested in Formula 1 and are VIPs on the racetrack! And it's destiny that I switched on the TV right when they walked across :)
  8. I bought Keane's new album on Friday and just gave it a quick listen in the car and listened to the beginning of Hamburg Song, but I didn't find any comparison to Life is for living at all..
  9. ^ The hardest Part and the Live version of "How you see the world" at Earls Court, London, are on it :) I got it some weeks ago at the EMI Music Store in Vienna.
  10. ^ Yeah, I just read an interview with Tim saying that Coldplay has never been an inspiration for them!
  11. Well.. I guess that they'd sound completely different and maybe it would have been a problem of two such fantastic songwriters in one band, you know.. It's Tim who writes the songs for Keane and it's Chris who writes the songs for Coldplay, so.. might have been a problem, don't know.. But it's a funny thought - I have no idea how it could be if Tim would be part of Coldplay..
  12. ^ It's the same with me. They have a huge impact on my life. I spend time on this message board every day, my walls are filled with posters, I spend a LOT of money for CDs, merchandising and all that stuff - damn if I'd calculate all the money I spent on CDs, vinyls, EPs and just magazines, I'd punch myself for being so stupid ;) But well.. For the first time ever, a band seems WORTH IT to me =)
  13. Yeah, it's a good sum. 4 million dollars is just CRAZY! I mean.. I'd feel really weird accepting that much money for my kid, you know. I'm sure Gwyneth and Chris even felt weird about $ 125,000 !
  14. ^ The album is fantastic, I'm actually listening to it right now :D "Twelve stops and home" is simply an album that makes you feel happy and alive.. It has some slow, wonderful ballads on it as well, but most of the songs are just happy and a celebration of life! You should check some of their songs out and see if you like it (http://www.myspace.com/thefeeling) - if you do, go and buy the album, I'd definitely recommend it :)
  15. Wow, that's NOTHING compared to other pics.. Heard that the first picture of Shiloh Jolie-Pitt cost 4.1 million dollars!!
  16. I feel like two of the posters above have already said: It makes me happy when I think of them and their music. Whenever I feel bad or gutted, I just listen to their songs and feel good again. It makes me think of the great things in life and that bad times pass and good times will come again. In addition, I owe my FANTASTIC (haha) music taste to Coldplay, as I got to other British bands through them. After Coldplay I started listening to Radiohead, Oasis and all these brilliant bands and by just listening to the albums I love, my life is much better than it used to be :D
  17. ^ Let's hope it will appear somewhere in the internet just like "Dry your Eyes" feat. Mike Skinner did..

Life is for living Clocks or Politik?
  20. That's what I said, you simply can't compare them! Yes, they do come from the same area of the world. Yes, they're about the same age. Yes, they belong to the current "British music", but that's about it. Keane are a lot more pop while Coldplay are more into the direction of rock and indie. But you're right, Chris sounds a bit girly sometimes as well ;)
  21. Yes, I have. And I loved them live. I didn't say that I don't like Tom's voice - I'm saying that he DOES sound a bit too high and girly sometimes but I think he can keep his voice on the same level very, very well which is great when he sings live. I know that they're awesome live and I love Tom's voice because it's special and unique.

(wouldn't have expected someone with paris and nicky hilton sig on a coldplay board - but hey, the more different and new, the better ^^) How you see the world Moses or Marianne?
  23. I haven't heard that soccer tune yet.. It's kinda funny how Danny McNamara and Chris Martin support each other in public ^^ Danny says good things about Chris and then Chris helps Danny out of criticism.. Very nice :D

Oh lord, I still get goosebumps when I listen to the start of Square One because I immediately think of the gigs I went to that started like that! So I gotta say: Square One LIVE Animals or Murder?
  25. I really don't think Tom's voice is THAT good - it's definitely original, but in its own way, you know. Just like Chris doesn't have the typical great voice, his voice is original and recognicable, just like Tom's.. Although I gotta say that his voice sounds VERY different now on "Is it any wonder?" than on their debut album.. Seems like the computer helped him a bit sounding less girly and screaming ^^
