are tubes that much better? i'm not sure which to pick, if i go with the tube then i have to buy lots of effect pedals which i don't wanna do...

i agree with everyone who says tube amps are better. But you guys have to realize that i have a limited budget and tube amps are really expensive. Not only that but i'd have to buy all those effect pedals seperately. So this is why i was leaning towards the line 6 spider 112. for a first amp i don't think its a bad idea. The squier telecaster seems like a good pick, obviously it won't sound exactly like coldplay, but i think it can come close. If someone were to want to replicate coldplay exactly, then obviously they'd have to buy ALL of their equipment which is thousands of dollars, which i don't have.

i'm leaning towards a squier telecaster the more i look around. As far as amps go, i am leaning towards the line 6 spider 2 112 combo. However i have read how its really good for metal. My logic is that if its good for metal, it won't be good to get a nice coldplay sound out of it. what do you guys think?

capone, are you saying the tab for see you soon on page three is correct all the way through? cause i played it and it seemed like something was missing, maybe another chord? i'm not sure if you said it was finished or not....

well heres the thing, more than a year ago i bought some cheap ass acoustic, for like 100 bucks...when i play songs from bands they sound fine. To me a note is a note and i can't see how paying $600 more for some piece of equipment is going to make it that much better. For all i am concerned, i might just buy one of those $100 electrics that even come with an amp . Cause honestly when it comes down to it, you're playing the SAME MUSICAL NOTES....regardless of whatever equipment you have.

you really think the amp makes that much of a difference? the only reason i ask is because i dont have $900 to spend on an amp alone. I would say my budget is maybe $500, for this summer anyway, i guess i could always buy the parts one at a time seeing as to i am in no rush......

hi I've been playing acoustic for over a year now and would like to buy an electric. I want a sound that's similar to coldplay so I was wondering which guitar to buy. I would also like to buy an amp and a pedal. I have a limited budget and am looking to buy the cheapest out there before a change of major quality of sound comes into effect. So if anyone out there knows of one guitar, amp and pedal i should lean towards, please let me know. Thanks everyone.
