[2017-08-25] NRG Stadium, Houston, TX (Cancelled)
They have open availability from August 29 to September 21, looking at the tour date page. An NRG Stadium employee that people have been following on instagram for updates says they'll supposedly be rescheduling for September, but it's not confirmed on any official social media (see attached image).

"Hi everyone in Houston We really wanted to play tonight, but sitting here all together watching the news about the storm we feel that we can't ask anyone to put their safety at risk. So, sadly, we will have to postpone. We will give details of rescheduling/refunding as soon as we can. We are really sorry for the inconveniences this will cause. Stay safe and see you soon. Love Coldplay" Posted on their official Facebook page.

I'm not going to presume anything right now. It's best for us to just wait for the official news as painful as it is, instead of thinking of what-ifs. I'm sure that if they choose a later date, they will give an option for people to get refunds if it doesn't work with their schedules.

Via Live Nation: "Due to Hurricane Harvey, tonight’s Coldplay concert at NRG Stadium has been postponed. Ticketholders will be updated when there is further info. We urge all fans in the area to stay safe." My heart is broken, but postponed doesn't mean cancelled...so far. :'(

[2017-08-25] NRG Stadium, Houston, TX (Cancelled)
Good (or rather, not so good) morning, Coldplayers! Considering this is quite the PR nightmare, judging by the upset people on the Live Nation and NRG Park Facebook pages, I would expect them to announce something before their projected noon time, likely around 10-11am. From the way it looks via the Weather Channel, it's not really that bad since the storm has shifted south a bit. The thing that seems to be bad is the lack of gas in some areas of Houston that locals are supposedly reporting on social media, though for all we know, it's isolated areas and people are blowing that out of proportion. I'm still willing to make the trek out to Houston regardless of anything because Coldplay means so much to me, but I'm going to hold off until the last possible minute for a final word. I haven't cancelled anything yet. Here's hoping for the best. :(

I can't sleep knowing that we have to wait until NOON to find out anything. I was hoping to leave before noon from ATX. I have a feeling that it's likely going to be cancelled without a reschedule date and I honestly can't cope with that. :( Yes, I've seen them dozens of times, but this is my first time actually spending hundreds on floor seats now that I can afford them. Coldplay is practically my everything.

Bahumbug, they've been mad and are going to stay mad.

"Hold on hold on, turn the lights on. For one song, everybody put your phones away. Let's all come together for one song and put your phones away. Now 1-2, 1-2-3-GO!" I've been to WAY too many of their concerts, can you tell?

Of course, but it ain't that easy. I didn't buy through Ticketmaster so I won't get the automatic refund; I bought at the venue directly not with a card of my own.

Let's just all calm down and wait until they give us an official word after their 2pm meeting. There's no use arguing over something as unpredictable as the weather. If they cancel, it really sucks, but things happen. I'm only happy I saw them in Chicago last week if that's the case. :/ I'll be out $500 just for the tickets alone because I didn't get travel insurance, not including the hotel and other costs. If they postpone, that's unfortunate too, but it's better than outright cancelling. If they decide to continue the show, then that's great! There's some of us more than willing to make the drive out and take any risks to see a band we love.

[2017-08-25] NRG Stadium, Houston, TX (Cancelled)
As of this moment, it appears as though it won't be cancelled. They said if it was cancelled, they'd give 24 hours notice. If it's not cancelled by 7pm tomorrow, then it will be going on without a doubt.

NRG Park's official Facebook page just updated with a sort-of FAQ for the concert. Umbrellas are a go as long as you don't open them within the stadium. The clear bag policy won't be implemented, but bags need to be no larger than 11"x17" and no backpacks or luggage bags. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10159067963475391 Mobile Link: https://www.facebook.com/nrgparkfan/posts/10159067963475391

That is very true! The laser lights they use remind me of the ones they used in the GS live album/DVD for that song. I think they improved on last year's AHFOD tour with all the lights and fireworks, if that's even possible.

I've been to several of their AHFOD concerts all over the USA so I know their set list by heart. Not to disappoint you, but they usually only play Midnight as a 30 or so second intro transition to the next song. You can usually look up the set list online, and it usually won't differ more than 1-2 songs.

Update: Umbrellas ARE permitted. Official word from NRG Stadium. Reposting this image that someone posted on the event page. Also, I see former workers on there saying to take shoes you don't care too much about because if it does flood, the poor drainage in the parking lots tend to collect water up to your ankles.

[2017-08-25] NRG Stadium, Houston, TX (Cancelled)
Some people on the Facebook event pages that are there setting up are saying something about possibly cutting Izzy and Aluna's acts so it can start at 7, and end earlier for the safety of those of us driving out of the area. Nothing confirmed though. That would honesty be the best bet if they don't cancel/postpone. I say go with your best personal judgement and keep an eye on things. If you want to not risk it, stay longer after the concert or don't go at all. Weather is unpredictable so there's no way of telling right now until we get much closer to the date, as I've been reiterating.

I highly doubt they'd be able to postpone for a later date that soon, to be honest. Just keep checking on here and have your notification settings on. I'm sure if something is said, we'll post it here in the forums. If nothing is said on their social media, it's safe to assume that the show is going on as planned. I'll call the NRG box office line just in case Friday morning and report back. Judging by the Accuweather and Weather Channel projections, it looks like the brunt of the storm will be "hitting landfall" on Saturday. It'll be right off the coast on Friday, so there will be rain and wind, but not as bad until Saturday. The flooding from it lingering, however...

Not really? I mean it's going to be inside, regardless. It's up to them. But again, I'm not really sure until it gets closer to the time/date. We should just keep a close eye on their social media for updates on whether they're going to decide on cancelling/postponing or if the show is still going to go on.

That's a great idea, though I would mention getting vinyl rain ponchos and not the cheap thin plastic bag kind if you can because of the projected wind speeds; the thicker vinyl ones will hold up much better. Same with flip flops, I would suggest maybe getting water shoes instead only for safety reasons so you don't fall wearing shoes with no support if/when they get wet. If I recall correctly, NRG Stadium doesn't allow umbrellas so if you take any from your car, expect to throw it away in the trash (or hiding it in bushes) before going into the stadium. For the Chicago show last week, we took vinyl rain ponchos, caps, and water shoes because it was open roof and it rained like last year.

I can't really say because I don't know for sure until they get more updated landfall predictions. I've got a non-refundable ticketed event in DFW on Saturday night, so I need to check out of my hotel and drive out of the Houston area Saturday morning regardless. :/ If you need to drive back as well, do so carefully even if that means driving 20-30 miles below posted speed limit on the highway, and if you see any water on the road, do not drive through it.
