the first thing i said after seeing it was "what.... the hell.... did i just watch" ? mostly because i was expecting somethign different altogether..... but i liked it... i want to watch it again and see if there's any hidden nods to kraftwerk other than the idea of the robot itself....

well, if you like some good old vintage Kraftwerk, go with Computer World, Trans Europe Express, or Man Machine... however, if you want an over-view of their career with a more "modern" sound, then go for this: it was recorded during their last world tour, a 2 CD set.... it's just mind-blowingly good.... i reccomend it to anyone who hasnt checked it out, including current kraftwerk fans.... :)

i was a very big fan of kraftwerk way before Talk and i think they are an awesome band whose influences are still felt strongly in today's music... anyone else here a fan of the Mensch Machinen? ;)

wouldnt it be cool if Coldplay plays the leaked version of Talk at a concert sometime? just for fans........

BTW, is there any way i can get recordings of the concert? audio or DVD?

the EPs are great... i love Brothers and Sisters.... particularly the title track and Only Superstition.... great to see their sound evolve....

i really dislike proof... i think THAT drags on for WAY too long.... i love Swallowed in the Sea though.... but currently, "Things I Dont Understand" is one of my favorite songs by them... along with Swallowed in the Sea...

but who sings the vocals in "Parachutes"? it sounds like Chris Martin sometimes, but other times, it just sounds a bit... different... did he record this song early in his career, or was he experimenting with his voice? thanks! :)

sorry, i dont know enough about Guy to see what the connection is between him and Genesis... i like Genesis... not as much as other bands (especially not Coldplay), but i think they're good.... Lol, he just grew up listening to them, and one of the first bands he was in a band that played nothing but Genesis basically. I couldn't resist. ;D Guy has good tastes then..... :lol:

this morning, i restarted my computer, and my OS wouldnt load anymore.... i tried 4 hours to fix it, but i couldnt, so i had to format my drive... i hadnt backed up all my rare coldplay stuff, so now i lost it all.... all the b-sides, videos, everything... not to mention a lot of music by other artists.... :(

for a second there, i was thinking "what's with the ear muffs?" then i realized where they were... :D

i tried to take a break from Coldplay for a while... seeing as how they were the only thing i listened to for a few weeks.... it worked for a bit, but i had cravings... and now i'm almost back to my old self.... i must have my daily coldplay dose daily now.... it is very addicting... :)

yeah, i agree.... in some ways, they were just as influential as The Beatles.......

my GOD! you people dont know who Kraftwerk is? i was a Kraftwerk fan before i was a coldplay fan.... kraftwerk is probably one of the most important bands in the world... without them, electronic music would not exist today.... you should give them a try.....
