  1. How to Disappear Completely is about to get owned by The Rip. It makes me sad, also makes me feel like I have to listen to the former way more just to get it on top again.
  2. You guys are both weird.
  3. Damn! Those radio and tv stations sound awesome!
  4. If you like Coldplay, The Bends is a very good album to transition to. If you don't like Radiohead right away, don't sweat it. It's not for everyone, and if it IS for you, it'll happen naturally. It's not about age, it's about taste and maturity, I think. Nobody is too young or too old to like something if they actually do like it. But, don't force Radiohead. Or any band, for that matter. It's important to like what you really like. Maybe one day you'll listen to one of their albums and suddenly it'll just click for you. It happens with everybody all the time. In fact, just today, I listened to Pablo Honey, which I consider a pretty sub-standard Radiohead album, and out of nowhere, I started to realize that it is actually a very good album. It just hadn't reached the true RH potential, and when it precedes The Bends and OKC, it's easy to overlook. So, that's what I'm talking about. If you're meant to like Radiohead, it'll just happen.
  5. Sooo true. A little while back over on At Ease, there was a discussion as to the "best three consecutive songs on a Radiohead album" and I couldn't believe that Airbag-Paranoid Android-SHA wasn't the unanimous choice! Those three songs are cosmic. OKC is a hands-down masterpiece.
  6. Tomorrow, though nobody is really discussing a time frame. I still think we should do it on skype, via satellite style ;)
  7. There there  hey like what I did there?
  8. God, I hope so!
  9. Speaking of mashups, have y'all heard Rodeohead?
  10. I'm sad to say the first time I saw them live was this last summer in Chicago. I'm really desperate for them to tour again.
  11. When they played MPS did they incorporate 3+ minutes of silence?
  12. Hmm. I wish I coulda been there. I just watched a live video of The Tourist. That was pretty awesome. Especially because Jonny did this amazing solo in the middle.
  13. o rly? I'm listening to I Might Be Wrong: Live Recordings as we speak. EIIRP is fucking amazing live.
  14. The first time I heard of Radiohead was on MTV when those little Kid A blips were circulating. I didn't know who they were and was kinda scared. I thought they were some weird ambient band (much like sigur ros).. That's what those Kid A Blips will do for someone who doesn't know anything about them, I guess. Bad marketing on their part :D
  15. I believe i' twas Everything In Its Right Place. My then boyfriend put it on a "chill" mix for me.
  16. well because I've seen you use it a LOT. And it's a weird little smiley. and, well, nobody else uses it.
  17. But shit, that message board is SO much nicer to look at. I feel like I'm in a dungeon over here.
  18. I have quite a few good laughs in the classics section. I think they're all a bit more severe over there. In their humor and in their attitudes. Though that can be a double edged sword. They get nasty. Since I'm a transplant from here, I expect everybody to be nice... Not so :D
  19. You're very gifted at using the "wacko" smiley.
  20. Do any of you guys post on a Radiohead message board... Like, say, At Ease?
  21. yeah but it might be in a different time zone! you might get to do it in the middle of the night, who knows :P
  22. I'm still down for that. How does it work with the time differences?
  23. at least you're being honest about being a poseur Radiohead fan at first.
  24. I think In Rainbows is definitely the most accessible. I'm giving a copy to my mom :D After that it's The Bends and Ok Computer. Then all the electronic shit. But, I love them all. I got into OK Computer first (along with Kid A). So, all good.
