Well, there have been rumours flying around for months, I remember in the summer it looked like it was very close to be announced... It could be all gossip, but gossip sustained on Chris ´s words in the middle of a concert and some news saying "somebody told me...", for example about 10 nights at Madrid. But I understand what you mean, and it´s really strange that roadies where not informed or aware of the tour plans... If it happens, it must be with new music, at least an EP, they´re not the Rolling Stones (or Oasis😅).

I didn’t know about those contracts, can you explain a little more about it? My guess is that an EP is almost finished, and that ´s what they let some fans listen to some months ago. It will arrive around Christmas with the announcement of the last MOTS legs. Because all the rumours about residencies in England and Madrid, Chris´s words about how many concerts were left from the same tour… I don ´t believe it has all gone away, there ´s no reason for that to happen.

I ´m sorry but I can ´t let you go away with that… If you ´re talking about “The greatest show in the world” I disagree completely, and U2 fans are really pleased about the band releasing such an epic and not really comercial song as single. “Street of dreams” was horrible and lacked what makes U2 unique, “Silencio” was a good rock song (following Vertigo ´s path). About Coldplay, I agree, I would love them to go back to meaningful and properly worked lyrics, and going back to that basic and intimate sound from the first albums… but I ´m not really optimistic.

I was going to write something similar… about the final Coldplay album; it should arrive with a huge media campaign, to sell the idea that is the last one and back to basics and all that. But there is the possibility of it being published before the musical, and in my opinion that would be a less proper ending (even when I don ´t really believe it will be a real end).

Ok, I had it and I didn´t remember😂 Nice ballad, but not good enough to be in the album, in my opinion.

So they´re going to wait till the album is out (probably next spring, if so) to announce the tour dates? What do you think? In my opinion, very late for what every artist is getting us used to...

What about next year´s supposed-to-happen tour? In a few weeks we´ll get announcements from U2 and, possibly, Oasis... Is Coldplay going to compete with that? I don´t get why next legs are not already announced and sold.

Oh I completely forgot the ending with FLIFIL! In fact, it´s a song I didn´t like at all when it came out, and now it´s not close to my favourites, but I´ve changed the way I enjoy it for better. And I think the transition between Moon Music and this one is great. Anyway, four new songs it´s very few for a new album, if you´re an artist that believes in what you´re doing and not only in what you´ve done in the past.

Well, I guess we´re not the band´s target lately.

You´re forgetting We pray. But I agree, I´m hoping they change the tour soon so they can focus on their actual album as they´ve always done.

They maybe don´t need that... but it helps. And I would say it´s in their nature lately to do exactly that, get together with anyone they feel can add something to their music. Hopefully they would not, but the odds are not good.

I don´t think so, the idea of the final album doesn´t match at all with a tour like MOTS, and we know for sure the tour will go on next year. If the musical is not ready, then I guess they will release an EP or whatever.

And I just gave you the example of People of the Pride, that comes from the VLV sessions. They rework the songs, change lyrics (or not), but it´s not strange at all. It´s very naive to think that all the songs in an album have been created the previous two years.

Actually, it´s very common, they have something that didn´t fit on that album, or couldn´t get right, and they could go back to that track and rework it till they´re sure about it. People of the Pride is a great example, and lots of bands do the same thing.

And the feedback was not, in fact, better? It didn´t have supercommercial singles like "Higher power" or "My Universe" ("My Pray" is the closest, and I think "Good Feelings" didn´t have the push it needed) but I sensed a much better opinion towards MM.

Right now, Coldplay is not a concert anymore, is an event. Thousands of people, thousands of not-fans-at-all, will be there if the concert is next to where they live, because the feeling inside and the picture on their TT or Instagram looks and feels so good. I don´t know if that will change on the next tour once they finish this MOTS, but a big % of people that paid a ticket on 2024 (including me) did not attend because of We Pray or All my love.

I don´t remember an alternative version of Speed of Sound leaked, but I do remember the one for Talk, which was imo a far better song than the final one (but the final one was less...classic, that´s why I guess they chose it).
