if I may: this is a very general statement, which doesn't pull the reader in as an intro. You might want to remove this entirely. Try introducing the concept of a 'tragic hero' in a different way. Describe what a tragic hero is. We are still making general statements, but you can rephrase this. I've just written an example^ I'd also rephrase this more like, "In Hamlet by William Shakespeare, Prince Hamlet..." I hope that helps you to feel better about your start. Sometimes it's good for someone else to take a look too :)
