  1. overall I agree with the way my parents have trained me and everything was their choice. I don't regret anything they did and they shouldn't either. But for my kids if I have any I hope I won't force them to do unimportant things. The important thing is doing the right thing for one's self, for others, and God. And cleaning their room has little to do with any of those things
  2. that's a good goal to have... having a clean room isn't going to make someone great. Having a positive personality will. If we can avoid confrontation with stupid issues like cleaning then we should be able to work on the important things like being friendly, trustworthy, etc
  3. a.k.a. bandido :cool2: our cats don't do tricks, one of our cats is so dumb he thinks that if he can't see us that we also can't see him..... the dog on the other hand will beg / speak (or say "roll tide" which is the same thing) / shake hands / sit / stay / lay down / play dead / say please (he growls) he's also really sneaky when he wants to be and you can't trick him to go to a place he doesn't want to with a treat.... I think he's the smartest dog we've ever had... he used to poop downstairs when he got jealous of another animal... he also knows a lot of things I tell him that aren't really tricks like.... "do you want to go outside?" he'll run away if he thinks I'm going to make him and he's usually right ... he will also run to the door if he wants to go out and he sees I'm going there.. anyway I like to brag on him :anxious:

  7. haha, I sort of know what you mean by that. back living in a house in the middle of nowhere being messy was somehow fun also... but once in a while it was great when it was clean too even though it felt empty it is annoying stepping over stuff and feeling overcrowded
  8. yep, I sort of agree... I used to be a clean freak and basically my room was spotless every day... but now I wait basically until it's really bad and then i clean it all at once until it's rather spotless

do you like a messy room better or a clean room? In a lot of ways I acutlaly think I prefer a messy place... I feel more welcome to a place that's messy in a certain way I don't feel welcome in a place that's not...... That may not be true at all but it feels good to be in a place that's messy... I think there are two reasons for that 1 - the feeling of being surrounded by stuff is comforting (to me) 2 - it feels like the person / people are not hiding their messy side to the invited
