  1. I did my own, too: Life in Technicolor II Cemeteries of London Glass of Water 42 Lovers in Japan Prospekt's March/Poppyfields Lost? Postcards From Far Away Violet Hill Chinese Sleep Chant Viva La Vida Now My Feet Won't Touch the Ground Strawberry Swing Death and All His Friends The Escapist -- I tried to keep the original intended direction and order of VLV while cutting out the tracks I think are weakest (Yes, RoL) and putting in stronger PM tracks (as well as Lost?). I think it flows well.
  2. Prospekt's March Postcards From Far Away Now My Feet Won't Touch the Ground Glass of Water Life in Technicolor II Rainy Day Lovers in Japan Lost+
  3. The EP has so much potential, but falls short due to a few things: - Lost+. Not only is Jay-Z terrible (rapping about Bobby Brown on a Coldplay song... seriously?), but it was already represented just a couple weeks ago on the Lost EP. Doesn't need to be there. - Lovers in Japan. The difference is totally minuscule. - Kinda short, even for an EP. - The inclusion of Lost+ and LIJ over other tracks like A Spell A Rebel Yell. - I wish Postcards were developed into a full song, but that's just a matter of opinion. The "meat" of the EP is great stuff, though. LIT2, PM, all good stuff. It's just that the EP could have been so much more by keeping a couple tracks off of it and replacing them with tracks that fit the vibe of the EP better. 7/10
  4. Some of the new songs are more vocally challenging, too. He's hitting the high notes now without falsetto, which is not his usual style.
  5. No particular order: 1. See You Soon 2. 2000 Miles 3. How You See The World 4. Sparks 5. Yellow 6. Trouble 7. Life is For Living 8. The Scientist 9. Clocks 10. Warning Sign 11. Square One 12. Fix You 13. A Message 14. Swallowed in the Sea 15. Lost (if we could, I'd really like to choose Lost? over Lost!, but if that's against the rules...) 16. 42 17. Death and All His Friends 18. Violet Hill 19. Viva La Vida 20. A Rush of Blood to the Head 21. The Hardest Part 22. Speed of Sound 23. Don't Panic 24. A Whisper 25. White Shadows
  6. Overrated: Politik and God Put A Smile Upon Your Face Underrated: Life is for Living and The Hardest Part They're all GOOD songs, but I don't think Politik is as amazing as everybody else. And The Hardest Part has always been one of my faves from X&Y.
  7. I hated "Yellow" when it first came out, for some reason. I remember thinking the lyrics were just stupid. I liked the video, though. I liked "Trouble," and liked "The Scientist" even more, but still didn't really listen to Coldplay or hadn't bought any albums. When X&Y came out, I heard "Speed of Sound" and was initially amazed at how similar it was to "Clocks" and how "they were getting away with that shit." LOL Then suddenly, I started really liking the song, and listened to more of X&Y, and suddenly, I was hooked.
  8. I wonder if Violet Hill hadn't been a couple months old now if it'd be ranked so low on many people's lists. Death and All His Friends Violet Hill Viva La Vida Lost? Lovers in Japan 42 Lost! Cemeteries of London Strawberry Swing Yes The Escapist Life in Technicolor Chinese Sleep Chant Reign of Love -- RoL and CSC would be higher if they developed or had more to them. CSC has all the potential in the world to be so much more.
  9. Cemeteries of London - 19 Lost! - 8 42 - 16 Lovers in Japan - 11 Yes - 17 Viva la Vida - 13 Violet Hill - 7 Strawberry Swing - 17 Death and All His Friends - 17 + Death and All His Friends - Yes
  10. I find X&Y and VLV to be so different in so many ways that it's difficult to compare the two. Kind of like comparing The Beatles' "Please Please Me" to "Revolver." The goal and the intent of the music is different. VLV is an exploration into different instrumentation, different time signatures. It's a lot more expiramental, and a side effect of that is it's less easily digested by the general population. A non-fan would definitely prefer Parachutes or X&Y, but as a fan, I appreciate the effort to expand and grow musically. Just my opinion. :)

  14. Parachutes: I love this little track. I really wish it were longer, but it's 40 seconds of beauty. Life is for Living: Same thing. Too short, but really a great track. Square One: This song is just great. Intricate melody, almost spooky. A Whisper: Okay, I hated this song and never, ever listened to it all the way through until recently. Turns out, it's pretty cool. LOL Proof: I've always loved this song, and didn't realize it was so despised among the Coldplay community. I still think it's beautiful. Spies: Gets lost in all the good tracks on Parachutes, but it's a really good song. White Shadows: This song has a lot of attitude... I've always liked it more than "Talk" or "Low," the two comporable songs on the album.
  15. Parachutes: Trouble A Rush: The Scientist X&Y: A Message Viva: Violet Hill Honorable mention... Don't Panic Warning Sign Fix You Death and All His Friends
