we should try to work with the system before revolting... maybe a person can pm the mod and see if someone else can be given that title whos in the forum more on a day to day basis to keep things under control a little more. i'm sure that would be welcome change from the older board members... i enjoy coming here, i'd rather try to work things out... i know other mods on other boards are very strict... helps keep the flow of the threads in order...

i think i started my upload thread with about 10 posts under my belt... where i started posted everything i was able to download, in one place and giving other the opportuntity to request what i was able to download... i wasn't posting new threads requesting something. i think the important part is that we not creating new threads if it doesn't contribute to the board... i think we've lost sight of that. making the board a lot harder to navigate around. the mod could/should? step in and lock some of the threads that are duplicates or deemed useless...

we should record a wav file of one of us saying "use the search button, before requesting" and when upload in rapidshare and send the link directly to the person requesting the song when it is obvious that they didn't look... they'll download it and when they listen to it... will find a funny surprise ;)

may want to re-title this thread from "README : How to use the SEARCH button" to README: Use search function before creating a thread requesting songs/videos!!! Search Function How To For dummys/FAQ. :P

too bad a increasing number of new members can't seem to use the search function... pity, really...

don't for get to be as consise with wording as possible; the more words you use to search the larger the search output will be. if possible in your search method, use the "and/or" statement to cross reference different words or names in your search. e.g. when searching for a cover song, try referencing not only the song name but the name of the orginal artist and/or the concert if you know it. the more defining critera you add the smaller the output returned will be. if you are looking for a upload and you know the author add that to the "search for author" field as well as telling the search how far back in time to go in the "search previous:" pull down field. are you looking for the repost of a link from a week or two ago or the original thread from 6 months ago? no point in scrolling through tons for posts looking for the search item. if you know the info add it to your search, it will cut down on time. people posting duplicate "request" posts, increases the difficulty of finding things using the search without a detailed search critera, so think/look before posting a new thread. not only will it cut down on threads and make searching easier it will also make keeping up the all the threads that much easier. if you are going to request something... you are at the mercy of the board member to upload and post your request... be patient or you may not get it uploaded... and again, use the same original "request" post... if you have nothing new to add you can always just "bump" the thread back to the top. thanks and sorry for the long drawn out post... i know most here know the info i stated above. ilayout p.s. coldplay9027, great job doing this, i hope it helps other find the songs they are looking for. i know its helped me find lots of songs and i'm still using the search function, in fact i still use it all the time... :D
