That seems like a lot for shipping within your own country! I get annoyed when I have to pay amazon 1.24 for postage for a CD, when HMV.com will deliver it for free!

Wow, you sound like me! :laugh3: I've never really bought Coldplay singles in the past, although since X&Y I've started collecting loads of singles, and have been buying lots of older Coldplay ones from the internet. I'm definatly getting Violet Hill, its the start of a new era for Coldplay. But I'd love to see them live as well, I haven't seen them before because they hardly ever come to the south west, let alone Cornwall! :cry:

Did they really give away a single before? ha, shows how bad my memory is!! :shocked2: Although back then Coldplay were still a fairly small band, whereas now they're global superstars. So I'd imagine they'll release far more copies of this single than of the previous one!

There's always ebay if you don't want to pre-order it. I dunno how limited this will be, so the price could end up getting quite high. Or it could be as common as anything and be going for next to nothing.

Uchiha_Shadow, I don't think Violet Hill will ever see a release on CD. From what various websites have said it'll be download only, with this special promotional vinyl being thrown in with NME for extra publicity and a bit of clever marketing for NME. Thinking about it, it'd be a much better thing if Coldplay weren't stuck between Madonna and T-Pain (or worse still Soulja Boy) in the charts. They don't need to have a number one for us to love the track

Maybe if Violet Hill doesn't do it the second single, which looks like it'll be 42 will do it instead, if thats released before the album. Its very rare that singles released after an album comes out get that high in the charts, unless the b-sides are really strong or its been downloaded loads. If they're gunna get a number one, it'll be with 42, if that is also released when its rumoured to be! Actually, I'm really surprised Age of the Understatement didn't go top 3. Its not the worst song in the charts at the moment! *cough* Madonna *end cough*

If its given away free then it won't be chart elligible. :( But in the grand scheme of things, the amount of people who have working vinyl players is going to be pretty low, so most people would still pay to download the tracks, I know I will, even with the vinyl. I don't think this will affect its chart position, and if anything it will draw extra publicity towards the track and the album, which can only be a good thing :D Lets hope so eh? ;)

The BBC news story says this is a double A-Side, and with both titles appearing on the cover it looks like a double a-side. I think that means that its just a B-Side which the band rates really highly, too high to just be stuck on the back of another single. If that makes any sense!
