what are the songs that you are really hoping for coldplay to play at your tour location? be realistic too, like obviously they arent going to play bsides, or songs like a whisper or we never change,etc, etc... mine is : politik violet hill lost! ill begin by saying that im a coldplay addict. i have every song theyve ever made on my ipod, its all i listen to. ive already bought tickets to 2 shows. so once again, i love coldplay. but with this new album, ive found myself listening to the cd over and over again - not because i love it - but because i want to love it. im subconciously trying to brainwash myself into thinking its a great cd, and up until just a few minutes ago, i had succeeded in doing so. what ive realized is that if i need to put this much effort into liking something, it probably isnt too high quality. and the reason ive tried making myself like it is simply because of my love of the band, and what they have PREVIOUSLY DONE. just because it is coldplay, does not guarantee anything. what I, and im sure everyone else in this forum fell in love with, was the coldplay of old. this situation kind of reminds me of playing youth sports, with that dad who always thought his kid was the best on the team no matter what he did. so lets stop being coldplay's "dad", and look at this album from an unbiased perspective. This is not coldplay's best work, and it is not even worth mentioning in the same sentence as their first two albums, if not 3. god i miss their old sound......

i dont understand how people can put the bsides and unreleased tracks on these lists. i mean, theyre clearly not good songs. it makes me wonder if youre just trying to be original or what not, or sound like a more knowledgable coldplay fan. only see you soon is anywhere near good

yea ive only been to the outdoor at dodge in CT for twisted logic tour, so im curious to see how they are in an arena. how does the presale work? you cant just buy presale tickets? whats a code?

Whos going? im pumped out of my mind for July 3rd. im goin to the Boston Garden concert too. Really wish they decided to play at the Dodge in Hartford rather than the civic center. The outdoor concert they played there was awesome from the grass, maybe it was too hot for them that night. i remember them having to go backstage and change clothes cus they were so sweaty.

i sure hope not... their old stuff is some of the best music ever made. now theyre just drifting off into mediocrity, this new stuff sounds nothing like them. when i pop in that new cd on the release date, i wanna be listening to my favorite band, not something completely different. Viva la Vida may be a good album, but im not sure it will be the sound i grew to love the last 4 years. that worries me

politik has the best ending of any song ever made....just wanted to lay that out there

you hit it right on the head. the songs from the first two albums with the amazing endings left you feeling in a way youd never felt before. undescribable. none of these songs released have come close to it yet, but im keeping my fingers crossed for the rest.

i think its just that i miss the instrumentals from their earlier songs from the first 2 albums. X&Y went down the "synthetic" music path, and it seems VLV is doing the same... though i should have expected that with Eno on board. Damn it Eno.....

IMO, viva la vida is a fantastic song, violet hill is ok, and ASARY is just bad... but anyways, anyone miss the big endings that parachutes, AROBTTH, and X&Y had? i mean, the ending of songs like fix you, politik, everythings not lost straight up gave me goosebumps, anyone think there will be some like that on VLV?
