I've got a good thing going with my newest track. I'm happy 'bout it! I'm doing a new version of Faces (before I die) because the old one is just that, very old and not up to snuff in terms of quality.

Humans are what they are. Why do we fight? The Fall of man at the hands of Adam and Eve. That's why we fight. We're inherently broken. There is no such thing as utopia. There never can be a utopia. Plus newbs are just plain dumb. :P

Nice... I might have to look into that when my credit card is paid off. (we're looking at about two months or so.... good times)

Shit, speaking of cell bills....... Those look pretty damn sweet, Kyle. How much did they set you back? (I need a nice pair smallies for travel-ease) I've got a pair of Aiwa noise-cancellers. They're big and make my lips tingle when I wear them too long (because of the cancelling technology they employ). I like them when I need them to cancel noise like when I'm riding in the car with my parents, but they're kinda bulky otherwise. I think they're starting to crap out on me, too.

Well, that is exactly what my intentions were in the beginning: to create a thread that expressed my disappointment without clouding my hope for the future. I agree that people came in close-minded, didn't read the entire post (because it was too long for their internet attention span) and commented on parts that were better as a whole instead of just a sentence. I truly appreciate the people that came and went with a level head there. I also appreciate your input there because you did a good job setting the record straight. It's Tuesday... time to go stuff envelopes with delinquency notices to send to all the bad people who don't pay their bills...

I'll tell anyone and everyone the same thing: just do it. I'm lazy as fuck, myself. Somehow I've managed to keep the ball rolling, generally speaking. It's all a matter of passion, really.

you're more than welcome. If there is anything I love, it's sharing GREAT music :D Just did a vocal track for the new version of Faces (before I die). It sounds pretty good. I might go and redo vocals again. I'm not sure. I've got a few ideas to add flesh to the bare bones of guitar and vocals. how's everyone tonight? I've given up on my thread. I can't stand personal attacks and general stupidity in response to logic and intelligence. (I'm sure somebody's going to come and read this and report to all the other lovely people in the Coldplay forum... whatever.)

I feel for you man... This board is starting to look like it's being taken over by teeny-bopper type noobs. Check out Chris Martin --> dunno whether to  /  / :( These people really need to react less personally to things being said about the band and separate their personalities from the band/music. Well, I'm still :/ While I'm happy there're more fans than I ever thought possible for them, I've really got mixed feelings about Coldplay becoming a pop entity... Well, I guess I'll try to look at the bright side and be happy for them that they've got more people appreciating their music It's definitely a mixed bag of goodies. I'm glad there are some rational people still around, too. Thanks for your input! (I'm thinking I'll just let this thread/band take it's course now.)

I'm not bragging, just pointing out a mere fact that I feel is relevant to my stance. Whatever. It's obviously all just a lost cause.

I've been meaning to check Kent out for several years now. Hahaha. It's funny how that works.. I've got this huge list of music on my periphery to check out and Kent has been there for a long time. I frequently forget about bands because I'll suddenly begin pursuing another focus. Camille: I don't really get the Floyd thing from Chin Up. Maybe at points with the guitar in the background... I hear a certain chime reminiscent of Floyd... Good stuff, though. I just absolutely love it.

What is your longest relationship ?
three years and counting.

I talk shit about Coldplay
*sigh* About the start date: I'm basically pointing out that I've been around. I'm not some ignorant noobie who doesn't understand how things work. It's not that I'm right because I've been around longer, it's to point out that i'm not some fresh idiot. On another subject: "Why are you here?" Because I'm a fan, obviously. Why do you think I'm here? How is it that I have expressed a thought out and genuine opinion about a band I have loved for a long time that I feel have lost their way, and all I get in return are insults and general stupidity? I thought I did a good job of presenting my thoughts on Coldplay and their current situation and I'm being told to go away. Have I missed something?

well, sir, if you came by more often, this wouldn't be an issue because we could stay on topic. :D Camille: I play as much stuff as I can so I can enhance what I do. Just guitar and vocals is rather limiting, but by adding trombone and keys and harmonica and massive effects on guitar and vocals, I can create a more varied and interesting atmosphere. Just think.... Damien Rice can get pretty boring. He's just guitar and vocals (vvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrryyyyy slow as well) with an occasional drumset and cello. He's very good at what he does, but it all starts to blend together and feel the same. As for Snowden, I'm glad you like it. I really feel what they do and it feels good. I think the Interpol thing is kind of in the guitars, but is really evident in the mood and the vocal delivery at times. What parts sound like Pink Floyd?

annnnd you are here becaaause...? go away. i'm listening to one of Coldplay's newest songs right as we speak and it's a beautiful song, thank you First off... look at my start date. Look at yours. Don't start with me. Second, do you see the winking smiley face? Do you know what that means? It means with that statement I WAS JOKING. I understand that sometimes sarcasm is lost on the internet. That is why I chose to add a smiley to help clarify that I was only kidding. Please, use common sense before attacking me. You only make things harder on yourself.

my goon, what? I don't have a goon. I don't have a thinker. And his what is making you blush. USE A FUCKING NOUN AFTER TYPING "YOUR" BECAUSE "YOUR" IS POSSESSIVE! Unless of course.... I have faith you're not, but it's up to you to prove one way or the other... an_cat: I admit, I may have "misspoken" when referring to a few responses here as done by "teeny-boppers." I read through it again last night and feel that it was an incorrect assessment.

What I was referring to were a handful of posts by giggling girls. By stretching that beyond its original limits to ALL people that post in the Coldplay section, you are not only doing a gross disservice to me and what I posted, you are also including everyone else in your disservice. In sum, I believe that your statement proves itself false in this case. I am entirely genuine about views I have expressed in this thread. I have not made any comments referring to this thread as a way to make fun of people who frequent the Coldplay section. Unless you have stronger evidence than what you have posted, I suggest you move along and let it go.

yes we dont have the exact same opinion about music as you. we must be brainwashed. your a thinker... grow up. Of all the things I posted, THAT is what you chose to take to heart and comment on? 1. Go to http://www.dictionary.com 2. Type in "sarcasm" at the top of the screen. 3. Read. 4. Get back to me on what you've discovered. And Christiana: I'm not making fun of anyone. Please don't come in this thread and report something that isn't true. And whoever else called me a dumb person, please, get a hold of yourself. I posted exactly what I felt about an album and a series of events I see as unfortunate in the world of music. If you guys don't see how genuine I am about my feelings for Coldplay and their progression then I have failed. PS, I don't think it's fair to Tolkien to compare Coldplay's unfortunate musical direction to his masterpiece, Lord of the Rings. If you WERE going to continue that train of thought, what release would be The Hobbit?- Kyle
Yes, I would recommend starting with an acoustic. I started on a really old classical guitar, then bought a nice cheap acoustic (that I still use all the time). I am in fact self-taught. I started with a book of chords and just went through them one by one until I could play each one. Then I started playing them together trying to transition as best I could. It was about that time that I started playing a few Radiohead covers. I wouldn't suggest trying Coldplay as they have weird tunings and chords. So yeah... it can be sooo therapeutic. ooohh Radiohead! niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!! I think whats really peaked my interest in playing is Interpol to be honest lol I've read how Daniel Kessler becomes inspired to write and how he comes up with songs, its just amazing! He watches movies.. and then from there.. if he happens to feel a certain mood or emotion from the film.. he picks up his classical guitar and plays, or just starts messing around with stuff... I am sure he has some other sort of 'influence' lol but the fact that he lives, eats, breathes, music is amazing to me... he truly loves music... and like myself.. I can't imagine my life without it.. so I want to create. :) God, I must sound like a cornball.. lol nah, you don't sound like a cornball at all. It sounds like you've got a passion and you just haven't figured out what to do with it. Have I ever told you about Snowden? They're a band from Georgia that I absolutely adore. Easy access: http://www.myspace.com/snowden snowden.info. I suggest you go to the .info site and download their EP. It's absolutely beautiful in an Interpol kinda way. They throw in a bunch of different influences if you listen carefully. Like the first track Victim Card starts out kind of like Radiohead; Kill the Power sounds like Dismemberment Plan... they're just great. but yeah, Kessler's a GREAT writer. I've not got that kind of ability. I can't say exactly where my inspiration comes from. What I can say is that it comes and goes and it can be soooo frustrating.- Kyle
trust him please! hahaha I ain't afraid-a-no ghosts!- Kyle
