  1. hahaha We have that right. :smug:
  2. This too shall pass.
  3. (don't feel cheated, but I'm from America) The sickest thing is the Official board is being over-run by retarded 14 year old runts.
  4. hahaha no worries man. I've got tough skin (especially dealing with noobs). I've not met a noob I couldn't handle. I'm no Brendan, but I've got my own way of doing things. Camille, what's stopping you from picking up a guitar? I learned when I was 18. I wasn't very good until I was mid-20, nearly 21. It takes time but it can be so rewarding.
  5. Always worth a laugh. (Geez, I remember when I was a noob. It seems like they get worse and worse. I had the sense to keep quiet until I got a feel for the board(s)...) I have this sad/discouraging/terrible feeling that The Cold Plays are going to become the next "boy band" even though they make real music and play their own instruments. I've noticed the lyrics on X & Y were atrocious compared to previous outings. I think Chris needs to take some time to re-evaluate what he's doing. Oh, and please don't rip Kraftwerk off. Stick to what you're good at, Chris. But seriously, I'm scared of teeny-bopperism. It's like..... It's just the worst thing ever.
  6. hahaha my I Talk Shit About Coldplay thread was overrun by teeny-boppers! hahaha That just cracks me up to no end. I play Takamine for the most part. (Which translates to "2 of my 3 guitars are manufactured by Takamine") My main guitar is a Jasmine, whose parent company is Takamine. My acoustic-electric is a Takamine, and my electric is a Cort. I've been thinking about buying a new electric because I bought the Cort off of a friend and the volume doesn't work properly. It's pretty much All or Nothing. He put on new pick-ups and rewired it himself. New music.... gosh. I'm not sure. I've got a few that need to be finished. Okay, I've got 13 on my list "To Record" so hopefully sometime soon I'll have more music up on the site. (thanks so much for caring and being so kind calling it lovely) I'm also hoping to have a new site design before '06. Malina from the Official board has been working on it off and on for quite some time. She's such a wonderful person.
  7. donate bling??? how does that work? I'd do it if I knew how... I wanna buy a new guitar, actually. Is bling transferrable?
  8. It seems that my point has been severely missed by some people. I don't actually talk shit. I just saw it in another thread and decided to use it drum a little attention to my opinion. As far as sounds and details and songs go, referring to a previous post by lilchick, I didn't like what I heard, so rather than just dismiss the album and say it's absolute crap, I analyzed why I didn't like it so I could figure out what I WOULD like to hear. I guess that's just the way I work. I want to know why I don't like rather than just accept I don't like it. And I definitely don't fall into spammer or blabber, unless of course, your definition of either of those is incongruent with the majority of society. AND, DAMMIT, MUSIC IS SERIOUS!!! :D
  9. Back Again Pt. II - Cloud Cult
  10. yeah. I think the bling idea is pretty cool. what happens in the lottery? and what happens when I win at the casino?
  11. Ms. John Soda - Misco
  12. hell yeah, you're own thread, dude! oh man. I get all nostalgic thinking about The Numbers... yeah, i knew it was you... don't ask me why I haven't added you back. I get to be kinda handicapped like that sometimes... (next time I log it, that will be rectified) Bling, huh.. I noticed that there was bling, but I had no idea what it was for. I figured that it was just a cool way to look at post quality rather than just quantity.
  13. Conor Oberst - Things You Know Gotta love the 14-year-old androgynous yelping voice.
  14. I don't know, really. I think it was when I googled basement ghost and a thread here was listed. I signed up here soooo long ago and rarely came here, so I guess I just want to grow my post count or something. and i totally miss this: :D smiley.
  15. hahaha all the sense in the world, actually. :D Does the name Basement Ghost or Joel ring a bell?
  16. splendid! (how have you been?)
  17. albie's a douche.
  18. 3.3 GB of Radiohead I think second place would go to Neutral Milk Hotel, then Mogwai followed by Modest Mouse then Bright Eyes.
  19. whoa. I'm glad that got worked out! My girlfriend forbade me from going to see Bright Eyes without her when they (he) was touring for I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning. I should have gone anyway and worked it out with her later. Her reasoning was that because she couldn't go (it was on a Sunday night and she was living at school, a good hour from Chicago) I shouldn't go without her. It was the most ridiculous request I'd ever heard. It was a lose-lose situation, really. I lost because I didn't get to see the show when I REALLY wanted to and I would have lost if I had gone because she can become very emotional and all that jazz.
  20. I really don't remember the song names because I'm not familiar with the latest album. And to answer a previous question, yes, I've seen Coldplay twice. Once at the Aragon Ballroom when they played with Grandaddy (absolutely beautiful show. Loved it to death) and once at the UIC Pavilion that was packed to the brim with people. The sound was nice, but I really enjoyed the company I was with more than the actual show.
  21. nah, y'see, Kyle DOES exist. I just don't know how often he comes here anymore.
  22. Let's see.... to address everything...... I'm not NOT a fan because I still love their early stuff, so please don't tell me to move along just because I expressed a dissenting opinion about their current musical direction. I think the biggest factor in my disappointment is in the sound itself. I trust you all have heard of "over-production" because that is exactly what has happened post-Parachutes. There is often too much going on to focus on the beautiful parts of songs. Parachutes sounds like it just happened and someone was around to record the magic. Everything after has sounded forced and heavy-handed musically speaking. If there's anything I can't stand in music, it's heavy-handedness, forced writing (more lyrically speaking), and deconstruction of music through over-production. I know the songs are good and hold much potential because I saw the boys play a few acoustic tracks on TV a few months ago. It was absolutely gorgeous. Then I went back and listened to the album and nearly vomited. It's absolutely tragic what's been done to the songs, most likely by some over-ambitious producer. It's really disappointing as a fan to experience such a back-slide from a band that has so much potential. I've not given up hope on the band, I've just given up on their current state of music. I love when bands grow. I wouldn't want Parachutes II, but I also wouldn't want to be beat over the head with the music. Just look at Radiohead: they grew tremendously and in 2000 released the most incredibly different album in a long time. (oh, and check my start date. I may have only a few posts here, but i've been around)
