moi moi! :D I have french final exam tomorrow, so ... i think you told your friend correctly, but lui and leur are used when there's a verb that needs à behind. (me, te, lui, nous, vous, leur) Je donne mon numéro à elle. - > Je lui donne mon numéro. if à doesn't have to be behind a verb, then you use les pronoms réguliers (I believe they're called like this, correct me if I'm wrong). (me, te, le, la, nous, vous, les) J'embrace mon ami. - > Je l'embrace.

yeah, I agree with you ... your friends and you should have at least similar interests, otherwise you might getting to feel lonely, even though you don't have any concrete reason for that.

Hm, I'm not sure about snooping, but I think you have all the right to find out the truth, even though it would hurt you in the end. You see, I was in a similar situation twice so far. On both places, so ... I think you should talk to your friend and clear things between you, just to have the less bad feelings as possible. Though I do not doubt that your friend feels kinda bad as well.
