Kids in da PIT!
go to ticketsnow for Boston 8/3... there are tons of pit tix for 130 - 150. You will also see that seated pairs for that price are not anywhere near. Strange. If my @#$%#@ wife would just suck it up and join the pit, we'd be all set. but she's worried that she won't see anything and get pushed around the whole time. We can't get there early, unfortunately.

Kids in da PIT!
let us know how it goes I too am struggling with where to get seats- gonna have to pay the scalper, unfortunately but GA pit seats are cheaper than close seats, so I am thinking of going that route, and gathering any info I can about the GA experience. I don't need to be "front row", so if there's space in the back, I'd hang there. Most people's reviews, however, are the fanatics, god bless em, and they are all from the front row....

My Disappointment With Coldplay Live...
I am totally with you. I realize it's a big, choreographed production but switching a few songs a night is completely do-able (see U2, for ex) even with an elaborate video show. A REAL bummer that so far this leg is starting out the same.

I am shopping for airfare now. Any compelling reason to wait and think things will get cheaper?

Ok - I'm in - committed- bought the tix. But one question I saw someone ask earlier and I don't think was answered.... anyone know when the tix are mailed out? This is a surprise (to be given in June) ... any chance the tix will show up before that and ruin it? This is going to be my best surprise ever if I pull it off. But, I had to have them mailed to my home address, which may have been stupid. Should have had someone else buy them for me...

Thanks for the help. So is general advice to get GA seats... I am willing to splurge and buy whatever, but it seems like reserved seats are all worse ?!? Is that right? and if so, why are the reserved seats sold out but GA available? Other worry is - at late 30s - no longer the youth I used to be... camping out, rushing for GA seats days are long gone

hi all. Is there some kind soul who'd be willing to get me up to speed on this? Just decided to splurge and plan a trip from US to Wembley for one of these shows- me and the wifey. How should I proceed? I assume the show is sold out? Am I correct that there are no good reserved seats? That either we go for the GA/Unreserved seats or buy reserved seats that are higher up? currently researching airfare and hotels.

help needed: good pics!
The splurge for this year was taking the wife to coldplay earlier this year- with a little help and research from this board I got seats side-stage directly in front of the second stage. She was thrilled. For xmas I was going to frame the ticket with a bunch of pics and make a little reminder collage. However, the pics I took actually turned out pretty crappy. I see some great ones on here but would love to get better resolution versions. Also don't want to use without permission. If anyone has a collection of good pics that I can use, please PM me. I PROMISE they will not be used for any other purpose than described here. FYI I saw the Boston show but I'm not trying to find exact pics from that- they all look pretty much the same. Thanks in advance!

29-Oct-08: Boston - TD Banknorth Garden - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
ps. sorry for no review- tough on a weekday- but I liked the show better than in August.... I was happy with the songs that got traded in / out of the setlist, thought the energy was better- technical improvements were many - big video display on the back had some neat effects.. I actually liked Yellow at the end... concert felt kind of unfinished at the end last time.... still too short for my book though! needed 3-4 more old songs

What do you think about the running time of "Viva La Vida" tour concerts???
90 mins is not standard.... maybe for a bar band but not an arena show. I think it's a real shame... they are charging $100/ticket..... cmon, if you want to be the next U2, then act like them.....although much older, U2 can still bang out a 2 hr show

Viva La Vida Tour - Disapointing Set Lists
yeah, I really don't get why cemeteries of london is not played; seems like an obvious ommission and to me, one of the better songs on the new album

03-Aug-08: Washington - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos [originally 02-Jul]
had to figure no special encore- this was the 2nd of 3 nights in a row... hartford, DC, boston back to back to back... I think that's part of the problem why the setlists are on the short side and no variation.... they don't have time to be creative.... the show reschedules have hurt us in that respect...

location for the songs "right side of stage", is that right side when looking at the stage from the audience, or right side when standing on stage looking at audience? your answer will make me very happy or very sad, based on my seat location....
