It is widely known to be the first single. Midnight is technically "released" on March 17th. Obviously it's already been released on YouTube for free, and the band has said it's not an official single, but it's still a standalone track, and I give that date some credence because it's also a Monday, the day singles (see Magic) and full albums (see Ghost Stories) are released. But then, look at Another's Arms. Unlike the rest of the songs, it's slated for release on April 28th, also a Monday, three weeks before the album is slated for release. Finally, A Sky Full Of Stars is slated for release May 12th, also a Monday, and exactly one week before the album is slated to be released. Coincidentally, or totally not coincidentally, the iTunes album listing has (incorrect) time listings for only 4 of the 9 tracks. Those four tracks are these four: Midnight, Magic, Another's Arms and A Sky Full of Stars. They usually only put up time listings for songs that are either pre-releases, singles, or songs about to be released. Are Another's Arms and A Sky Full of Stars the second and third singles for the album? If any Ghost Stories tracks other than Midnight or Magic are played at iTunes Festival, I'm betting it's these two.

THANK you. I was shocked no one mentioned U.F.O. before you did. Chris already wrote this song once before. It's called Til Kingdom Come. Very similar chord progression, acoustic song, even the same, "I don't know which way I'm going" lyric. I'm liking the album more and more as I keep listening, and have not written a single critical Mylo Xyloto post until now, but come on...a 40 month wait for an MX-ified version of what's essentially an already existing song?? (Note: I absolutely would've voted for AHT (i.e. recycled MX), but do any of us realistically count MX, MMIX and AHT as full songs??)

If Paradise is the instant grat single when you pre-order the album, and Paradise is available on the 12th, doesn't that seem to indicate the formal Mylo Xyloto listing will also be up on iTunes on the 12th? When the official album listing goes up with a pre-order track that usually means the track listing is available, and we know they delivered the finalized track listing today... Album track listing released on Monday??

New songs sound really fantastic. So excited. One thing doesn't make sense though. Two nights ago, as Vicki told us, they played 7 new songs. Last night they played 5 new ones: "ETIAW," "UATW," "Hurts Like Heaven/MX," "Charlie Brown/Cartoon Hearts," "Major Minus/Up With The Birds" That means there were two new songs they played the first night that they didn't play the second night. One of them is 'Princess of China.' But...what's the other one???

Can somebody link to wherever it says that Major Minus = Up With The Birds? Do we know this to be true? If so, I totally missed that.

On the west coast of the US, I'm getting from both streams some daytime footage of Ash...who played two hours ago. so, is this thing just delayed by two hours, or is anyone else having trouble with the stream?

We know that one of the new songs was a duet. We also know that on wikicoldplay, Chris is listed in the Nov 2010 'Q' interview saying that they were strongly considering 'Up With The Birds' to be a duet song. I'm betting that 'Up With The Birds' is "New Song #2" in the set, as someone who went to the show mentioned earlier that the duet came near or after GPASOYF.

This +1000. On a related note...guys...can we just take a minute to note how different this Era Kickoff is for all the fans that joined this community after AROBTTH came out/the summer of 2002? Since then, there hasn't been anything even minorly approaching half an album's worth of songs debuted live, not to mention social media capturing a sizable portion of them. We're used to getting one, maybe two singles, then a group of 10-12 songs. And then we frustratedly wait for 3 more years. No bootlegs, and usually no leaks. Instead, this time around, new details and new songs (some of them maybe even not on the album) are going to keep coming out bit by bit at least for the next little while. And then a proper album with some more unheard songs will come soon after that, at which point the ones we've already heard will probably sound new, too, in a professionally recorded setting. Needless to say, it's a memorable experience to have the discovery process be a continually evolving, multi-day, multi-week one, and for us to all find out everything together and be hitting refresh on these boards 8 billion times a day. :)
