  1. Nebraska can't be that bad. I mean, sure it's flatter than soda that's been left out and it's about 1500 miles from the nearest ocean and there's nothing but corn and cows for miles... okay, maybe it is pretty bad, but there is one good thing about Nebraska: Conor Oberst lives in Omaha. Maybe that's why he's so depressed. I'm not helping much, am I? Sorry.
  2. Well, I guess not many Coldplay fans are also Daveheads. My love for DMB began in 1996, when I was 13. Their music helped get me through... um, let's just say a really bad time in my life. So, largely cos of that, DMB was, and remains, very important to me. I came of age with DMB playing in the background. My first (seven) concerts featured Dave Matthews (with and w/o the band). I ditched my closest friends and started over when I was 16, partly cos of an incident that involved DMB (don't worry, it wasn't only about the band). I took drama cos Dave used to act, even though I have major stage-fright, and I eventually got into advanced drama. My high school graduation was outshone by meeting Dave himself. I got into David Gray cos he was on ATO Records. Everyone who knew me, knew me as the Dave Matthews girl. That's what people remember about me. And I wouldn't change it. Even Chris Martin said something like it's great that DMB is huge in America. I forget why, cos they're passionate or something. Y'know, he always seems to be going on about passion in music. I should shut up now and go listen to Seek Up.
  3. Does Coldplay have an official taping policy? Or have any of the guys mentioned their feelings toward fans recording shows? Cos I haven't found anything on the official site and, you know, in the future, I'd like to tape any shows I attend, but I don't want to if the band isn't cool with it.
  4. This is what I heard. Or thought I heard. My desire to have it make some sense might be making me hear things that aren't really there. I hear a sound I can feel it in me now Comin' from the ground Comin' way up to the sound Oh, oh can you feel it now You're sittin' on the ground Oh, comin' out from us Gonna feel it somewhere else Sayin' Oh they're ten to the dozen Who does, who doesn't Who chooses who's chosen Who must, who mustn't Who runs and who risks it Don't ask that question Cos my world's turned upside down Oh, because my world's turned upside down Can you feel it now I can feel it from the sound Comin' on from under the ground Like a heart or written sounds Oh look, it's gonna fly away After it's stolen what I say Can you hear that sound Come runnin' for me now Oh, we're ten to the dozen Who does, who doesn't Who chooses who's chosen Who must, who mustn't Who risks and who runs in Don't ask that question Cos my world's turned upside down Because the world's turned upside down Fallin' out of the sun Feel it comin' undone Feel it comin' on me now Is she the one who's chosen If her love has frozen Comin' on through from her mouth Come on that's a shadow Shimmer on in the night What it is and what it's not Now the sun is settin' Winter come and stole it What I am and what I'm not
  5. Gracias. Jeez, all these welcomes... I feel a bit overwhelmed.
  6. Thank you.
  7. Since this board is so addictive I guess that means I'll have something to tide me over until I turn 21 next February. (Chris Martin isn't rubbing off on me much, it seems).
  8. Thanks Laura. And thanks for the tip, Sammie. I'll try to pace myself.
  9. Hello Sammie, thanks for the welcome. I feel slightly less awkward now.
  10. I'm going to gingerly peel myself away from the wall and venture to say hello to everyone. Um... hello everyone! ...Since I'm new here, I suppose a brief introduction is in order. Sooo... My name's Michelle and I'm from southern Calif. My favourite bands, besides the obvious one, are Bright Eyes, David Gray, Desaparecidos, Dave Matthews Band, Ryan Adams, Travis, The Vines, Wilco, Doves, Starsailor, Whiskeytown and Idlewild. I spend an inordinate amount of my time listening to music, typing/transcribing lyrics, prowling for pictures and awaiting the next new song/tour/video/album from my favourite bands. I also read a lot, especially fantasy/sci-fi. And when I find time between naps and web-surfing, I paint, draw and write, ahem, poetry (a bit of a cliché, isn't it?). So, yeah, that's all.
