Coldplay's B-Sides...
The AROBTTH B-sides are some of the best I've heard in my life, from any band. So many fantastic tunes, some better than the album tracks. When you consider the artwork that came with the Rush of Blood singles, and how they also featured these awesome b-sides, they're undoubtedly among my favorite singles of all time. The Parachutes b-sides weren't bad either, and neither were their singles' artwork. But songs like Animals, One I Love, Crests of Waves, and Murder, along with the rest, are just amazing. I'm not as big a fan of the X&Y b-sides, though.

Joe Satriani reference in 2002?
Honestly, this is very perplexing. I think someone should ask the oracle or vh1 or somebody who would know what in the world is going on lol.

Joe Satriani reference in 2002?
Hey, I was going back over an interview the band did in 2002 with VH1, and I came across an interesting quote that I didn't really know what to make of. VH1: You’re always hinting that maybe this might be the last Coldplay record. Chris: We’ll wait and see. I sometimes think we’re just a one-hit wonder and that’s it for us. Other times I know that it’s not true. Being in Coldplay is what I live for, and I’d be gutted if people didn’t want us around. This is getting depressing! This is going to be on VH1’s 100 Saddest Stories: the day we gave up because no one liked us. Get Joe Satriani to comment on that! http://www.vh1.com/artists/interview/1456997/08132002/coldplay.jhtml Now of course its no surprise the band's future was up in the air during the AROBTTH era, but I was completely caught off guard by the Satriani reference. What in the world could he possibly mean? Remember, this interview was given in 2002, so I'm just curious if the band had some history with Satriani already or something... any ideas? Thanks

Fab Four Does Goofy Things
Very Fab Four-esque... Its actually striking. Along with the comparison between the all videos, the first thing I thought when i saw them walking on the hill was "That looks just like U2, Joshua Tree Era, very Corbijn-esque." It's just in the style and fashion and location that U2 used for that album and the videos and photography that came out of that era.

Could this be Coldplay's "Achtung Baby"?
I definitely am very open minded regarding the connection, and the possibility of Coldplay as the "third band." While it may seem only to be speculation, its obvious that there are some undeniable connections between the bands. U2, especially Bono, have always looked up to The Beatles as the pinnacle of artistic music, for all their interests and influences from different artists, and Coldplay look at U2 and The Beatles in a similar way. Whether this ascends rock music to a platform of a different kind is yet to be seen, but its obvious that Coldplay seems destined to make art and music of a caliber of these two bands. How I'd love to see all the detractors realize that they've been denying the defining band of their generation. Rey P.S. Surprised to find you here, Moises :)

Q 2008 Preview (Cover feat. Chris Martin)
True... except for other bands like early R.E.M., The Smiths, The Pixies, Nirvana, and many others. Franz are great, but Radio Free Europe, This Charming Man, Where Is My Mind?, Smells Like Teen Spirit can all be considered damn near perfect, all around 3 minutes, and all memorable, catchy songs.

Albums of the Year: 2007 - Now Closed.
Btw... By the way, to all the voters out there, i'm surprised i haven't seen more votes for From Here We Go To Sublime by The Field, it's an incredible album of music from a genre of minmalist electronica that really is new and different from everything else out there. There are a few labels in Germany that are putting out this kind of music, and this album is probably the definitive work from this new stylistic development in electronic music. It's minimal, ambient, and would make Brian Eno produ. You all should check it out, its pretty amazing, it's better than any other electronic or techno releases this year, and that includes anything LCD, Justice, or any other bands that are even experimenting with electronica have put out.

Top 5 Albums of 2007 I tried to make it top 10 or even top 20, but constantly kept arguing with myself over it... so here's the streamlined top 5. No surprises at the top: 1) In Rainbows - Radiohead 2) Neon Bible - Arcade Fire 3) From Here We Go Sublime - The Field 4) Icky Thump - The White Stripes 5) Strawberry Jam - Animal Collective
