Chances that LP4 will be their best album?
Well I fully agree with you, but a shorter album means no filler and more consistancy, so it should be better than Parachutes and XandY on that alone.

Your favourite 5 bands at the moment... in no order are...
Radiohead Muse Coldplay Blur Franz Ferdinand

Radiohead
In Rainbows is a dam great album yes, but I find it simply less intresting than anything else the band has done, especially Hail to The Thief with its sense of impending doom and political relivence. Its propably because im not approaching 40

Q 2008 Preview (Cover feat. Chris Martin)
Well U2 say this decade was their best ever which is absolute nonsense unless they bring out something of the quality of The J Tree or Achtung Baby before 2010... U2 had 5 years to make a great album last time, they almost half did it (HTDAAB was mostly great or decent), brilliant as they are, im sceptical about the quality as well as the release. Now Oasis were so over due for an reinvention and I don't care what people say they arn't too dumb to realise it, their wiser now that the 'Standing on the Shoulders/Be Here Now era' and im sure the album won't dissapoint. Coldplay, X&Y was great but nothing on the last two, it was just too long and unspectacular, a smaller more consistant album ensures greatness as it is after all Coldplay. (Amazingness of Twisted logic aside :) ) Franz Ferdinand's 3rd is one im really intrested in, being that they're the first band to perfect 3 minute pop songs since The Beatles and create simple effective dance and sing a long to pop. Greenday, I liked for a week generally but the reality everything they've done sounds the same and has no life span. And If were lucky enough to get a Muse album this year I'm sure it will be their long overdue master peice (Muse have 4 fantastic, consistant albums but nothing that stands out as their best for me like Ok Computer or Rush of Blood, thats not a bad thing really) And Radiohead, get back in the studio and do a nice pessemistic rock opera that gets you in the history books under Pink Floyd and The Who :)

Radiohead
Coldplay have done one very good master peice album (A Rush of Blood) but Radiohead have done two The Bends and Ok Computer. But Radiohead are simply better than Coldplay good as they both are.

Blur and Pulp albums
Hey guys I picked up the two best of's of these respective bands and im pretty hooked, theres more to brit pop than Oasis and Stereophonics! wow. Anyhow can anyone tell me what they think of the albums of these two very fine bands, out side of the best ofs. With blur I already have Parklife, Leisure and Modern life is rubbish with Pulp I don't have anything.

I used to love Coldplay but now I don't
Yup I moved from Coldplay to Radiohead, but Kid A was the only time I found Radiohead too differcult to absorb quickly. (Took 2 weeks) Coldplay and Radiohead arnt similar imo, Coldplay are more personal and human with more relatable music to a troubled mind. Radiohead are more distant, more paranoid and more alien they're kitted for the cynical listener. I prefer Radiohead so much more to Coldplay but I don't see them as companion bands, but at least Radiohead are carasmatic in person. :) Radiohead is my favorate band without exception, but Coldplay are still a daily considerable listen. But seriously I don't even think Coldplay was inspired by Radiohead, I think Travis and The Verve are the culprits here. Two excelent bands who did what they did well but were weak in some areas, then CP came along with a bigger arena sound.
