  1. shirts were $40 on average up here in Toronto / Ottawa.. Cameras weren't a problem whatsoever up here either. At Ottawa they didn't even do any sort of check - they opened the doors and everyone just trickled in as they scanned tickets. I didn't see a single person stopped or checked (bags and backpacks included). I saw people with P&S cameras as well as SLR cameras.. Had I known it was that relaxed I would have brought my own SLR with zoom lens instead of my small sony P&S :) Another thing - the concert in general is dark so pics are a hit and miss... As for time - they typically come on between 8:45pm and 9pm. YMMV
  2. you'll know when they are ready to come out - they've been playing a classical musical piece before LiT.
  3. I don't think they've neglected it necessarily... they've played here in Toronto back to back and Montreal back to back and even in Ottawa but thats it in Canada. Nothing out west either. I'm thinking they are probably looking to tour the west coast more consistently in 2009... after all Chris did say in Toronto that he'd see us in '09. I think their schedule for the VIVA tour has been less than stellar. They did North America June/July/August then went to Europe only to come back and do a single Canada show (Ottawa) and take off down to the states for a few weeks only to go back to Europe again towards November/December... This is my opinion.. if I were you I would just be patient and in the meantime watch all the youtube videos from everyone :)
  4. Coldplay - Live In Ottawa (October 20th, 2008) Video I've put up an avi torrent of the concert on coldplaybootlegs for those interested. It's an xvid encode with PCM audio of the concert (with audio and video fading between songs because of the rough cuts between them).
  5. Death Will Never Conquer... it was a free download on coldplay.com (but with Chris singing instead).
  6. the best part was that she took off her shoes and kicked her barefeet up on the rail in front AND eventually left at some point before they finished playing Death And All His Friends (way before the final encores). Just sad sad sad...
  7. no kidding... I was mouthing along the words to Death Will Never Conquer (so not to be heard on the recording :) ) and I looked around and couldn't find anyone in my near vicinity who even recognized the song. I remember in Toronto too some dude behind me asked me what the hell the song Dubliners that they sang at the end was and I had to tell them... There are some diehard coldplayers and then some people who probably score tickets from a boss or friend that can't make it to the show. My wife sat next to some chick in Toronto who kept asking us after EVERY FRICKING song what the song was called and which album it was from... like HELLO????
  8. ugh... did they realize they were at a concert? I barely hear any cheering/screaming :(

  15. did they actually play Reign of Love or did you mean Lovers in Japan? Or both?
  16. I guess everyone sorta says that about their own hometime... its funny cuz I hadn't said anything during the concert and then after my wife said to me that our Toronto crowd was incredibly louder than the Ottawa venue... regardless - it was an awesome experience watching them both in Toronto and Ottawa... I would have liked to have seen them in Montreal too (although I don't think I'll be doing the 5+ hr driving thing each way again - burns you out). P.S. - anyone else catch the 2 'spiderman' type dudes climbing up to the lighting racks moments before the concert? They were sitting in these suspended type chairs controlling the spotlight. I guess the Ottawa venue is laid out differently because in the other venues I recall the spotlights coming from the back of the arena (although I may be mistaken). The guy on the far suspended light rack was walking across the beams while the dude closest to where we were sitting was literally crawling across the beams (I could have sworn he was scared sh*tless) :laugh3:
