I teach High School. My Tutor Group are Year 9, so they've always got plenty to say for themselves. One boy in particular really tickles me when he does his "Coldplay are crap" routine. He gets this really cross look on his face :angry: I'd admire his passion... if it wasn't for the fact that the band he always throws back at me as a beacon of musical genius is Slipknot!!!

I spent my childhood being mocked by other kids... now I'm a teacher and it's the kids in my class that mock me :laugh3: Ironically, when I was a kid, I was really in to A-ha... and it turns out Coldplay were too! So I guess I was always going to love them. It's funny how worked up people get about Coldplay. People who hate them, really hate them

Being Christian (technically - I don't actually go to church or anything), I've never really thought about how weird it must be for people of other faiths around this time of year. I mean, we're bombarded with images of Christmas wherever we go. I'm watching Paramount Comedy at the moment today, and all they're showing are Christmas episodes of their programmes. I would never criticise anyone's taste in music - I grew up with my friends taking the mick out of me, each to their own, I say! As for Vampire Weekend, I can understand how his voice might annoy some people. some sounds just get people going, don't they? There are plenty of acts I can appreciate make good music, but the singers voice just annoys me.

I know, but words like dull and bland just don't seem strong enough. As for The Kooks, I think it's the guys voice that really annoys me. Don't suppose you hate The Hoosiers & Scouting For Girls too? 'Cos they're two other bands that do my head in (but nobody beats The Feeling for getting me mad)

I get how it doesn't sit that well on X & Y, but frankly I just don't think it's good enough for VLVODAAHF And I must be the only one thinking this, but I really like the video. It's completely original, done with a lot of humour... and Guy looks really hot in it :P
