  1. from my professional industry opinion... First let me start by saying, I REALLY wanted a X&Y Tour DVD and I would again enjoy a LIVE VIVA DVD or blu Ray But here's why it likely won't happen. CONCERT VIDEOS ARE NOT PROFITABLE FOR LABELS. The cost at producing a live show is enormous. And then, because of BluRay, the value of DVDs have dropped significantly. So the public wouldn't see it suitable to pay over $20 for a concert DVD. Therefore, any concert DVD under $20 would leave no profitable margin for the label. And generally the sales of Concert Videos are approx. only 5% of what the band's album sells. Other than die-hard fans, there just isn't a big market for them. However, if there are only a few bands that can afford to produce a video like this; Coldplay are definitely amongst those bands. Others being U2, Timberlake, Madonna. Another point in the positive is the introduction of BluRay. I can see some mega artists (U2, Coldplay, Madonna, Timerlake, Kanye) being anxious to get out a show on that format. But a point in the negative would be that Christmas has come and past and this is the time for Best of's and Live albums.
  2. they are the last video, scroll to the bottom
  3. yeah! do it... great band !!! go vote now!
  4. cool pics anything cool, or pretty simple? what was ricky gervais doing and what was going on ? i love that guy is he not in Boston anymore? Is filming done for that Other Side of The Truth film?
  5. if you have good ears - you likely won't be too impressed. on a stereo its okay... on headphones it was annoying. i think it was printed as more of a novelty item and less a high quality version of the album.... unfortunetly. at least it's 180 grams. but if you were to ask me, would i have bought it if i knew? yes, absolutely. i love vinyl!
  6. EMI has fit all the songs on one vinyl. Nowadays, most artists put their full length album on 2 discs, 4 sides. The reason for that is because the closer you get to the center of the record - the worse it sounds. So because this was a short record, they could "technically" fit it all on one disc... but it means that they would have to come close to the center of the disc. And therefore, "Reign of Love" and "The Escapist" sound horrible. Ideally, for quality reasons (not for economic reasons, ie. EMI) you would just limit each side to 3 songs, leaving at least 2-3 inchs from the center. I guess you could say im picky with vinyls.
  7. I looked for a thread like this into 10 pages and couldn't find anything... and i want to play... In order of favorite to least; Lost! 9. i think it's fine to post it. its interesting to see where your idols live and such. it's the same as TMZ, etc. I think if anyone wants to go there to stock him, then they can find it easy enough if they wanted to. <edit> also, i think his house was already posted in this thread recently...

  11. yeah its still great... but it's going to bug me for life it's especially that new instrument
  12. <edited accidental double post>
  13. well considering you cant find AROBTTH or X&Y on vinyl for less than 40$ ... its a killer deal but that was beacuse when those vinyls were printed, vinyl was a niche market. now, with vinyl sales up over 34% - every new release is on vinyl ps. i don't like the quality of this vinyl.... highly compressed and it was slightly warped.
  14. i feel like LIT is bad quality even on the CD.. the instruments sound like MP3 quality. the entire CD and vinyl... is mediocre in quality.. sounds very mp3ized..
  15. yeah i got the vinyl its beautiful the basic disc is pretty simple and cool 19.99 CDN is a great great deal listened to the vinyl today it's decent quality
  16. i call it the new coldplay album

  20. Canadian Electronics Retail Giant, Future Shop, has a special pre-order page for Coldplay and (apparently) an exclusive interview, see here (ps. i can't seem to get the video to work... let us know if you can)
  21. update; I am alive and well.... after the photo was taken, the remainder of the primer went on and then the final color will be applied tomorrow. now if i reapply the "viva.." after the final coat is on.... then i will be dead but my wife does like coldplay... she is excited for the release after we watched the HOUR interview together... but her music tastes and her interior decorating tastes are two very different things!
  22. luckily my love for coldplay is only as serious as undercoat primer And you try painting a d with a roller
  23. i hope my wife doesn't mind... she comes home in a few hours...
