Life In Technicolor

Hello Coldplayers, I had this leaked version of 'Life In Technicolor II' which had a dark piano outro of around a minute and a half. The album version does not have that outro. Unfortunately, the song got deleted from my computer while cleaning my computer. Since then, I've been looking for it for many years now but cannot find it anywhere. Recently got to know about this forum. Hopefully some of you guys might have it. Thanks.

Anyone know the name of the string intrument used in the begining??

Hello all, I've been doing a LOT of searching lately for an edited version of LiT with the drums and such removed. I really want to get the strict backing track for myself, but drum removal will work well too. If anyone can make it or send it or anything that would be very much appreciated! Cheers!

After seeing clips from MSG with LIT opening, with that light show and that atmosphere, I think it's definitely the best opener they have. Certainly more gut-wrenching than Square One and just more creative than Politik as the opening track to a gig. Anyone disagree?

Right, so the 'rough cut' is out there. This thread's all about what those of us who have heard it think. NO LINKS! I love it. Really up beat and different sounding too. The synths at the start are gorgeous. Like the "oh oh ohh!" bit at the end, sounds a bit like the Police. I like it more than Violet Hill, Lost? and ASARY. I think VlV shades it because it's more of a developed song. Anyway, what do you think?

Well to celebrate this new section, let's kick it off with a new thread! Do you think Coldplay will ever do an instrumental track like LIT again? Or will this be the last one for a long while yet? Personally I hope they don't hesitate from trying more instrumental tracks in the future - they pulled this one off brilliantly :D Discuss!

Since I really like Life In Technicolor's intro and Life In Technicolor II's lyrics, I mixed the two of them together so that I can enjoy the best of both worlds. So you get the LIT1's album lead in, the lyrics from LIT2 and the lead out of LIT1 which gaplessly joins into Cemeteries Of London. I named my creation Life In Technicolor 3 :)

LiT was the last song in Night at the Museum 2. I almost peed in my pants when I heard the intro.

I was watching Eurosport's show "Eurogoals" lately, and I noticed in one feature that "Life in Technicolor" was playing in the background! If you didn't know, Eurogoals is a show which plays the highlights of the week's matches from Europe's football leagues.

according to wikipedia, LIT is written by Jon Hopkins! Is this true?

i feel like LIT is bad quality even on the CD.. the instruments sound like MP3 quality. the entire CD and vinyl... is mediocre in quality.. sounds very mp3ized..

im afraid im gonna have to say the nail is being driven in. Life in technicolor = strangelove

I can't wait to hear this!!! The current instrumental version is superb and a great concert opener...... but i am confident the new version will be even better!!! This is the 3rd incarnation of the song..... the guys must really rate it.... so i have full faith that it will be superb!!

I have been working the past couple of years harnessing my remixing ability and when I heard Life in Technicolor I knew I had to try and put together a remix. As a guitarist – I was really tuned into the chord progression and simplicity of the song. It’s just a feel good record and always puts me in a good vibe. Is LiT on the leak the album version? Or is the album version longer and with lyrics? Cuz if tis longer on the album then this could be best coldplay song of all time

I listened online Coldplays new album...LIT is the same song, the one we all know! So...:D:D:D:D:D

Life In Technicolor kinda reminds me of the band's carrer, as if they were saying : "We're back and better than ever" Anybody agrees?

I liked Life In Technicolor when I heard it on VLV. As such, I was so excited that Prospekt's March would include Lit II. So... one day I decided to do a google search and found this torrent link... http://www.mininova.org/tor/1987779 Do you guys think it's the actual track? It sounds legit...but who knows it could just be someone who mixed/combined Lit off of VIVA LA VIDA with the preview track that was released last week. Either way...LiT II is awesome. If this is indeed an early leak of the actual track...my only complaint is that the song is too short...I want more.
