  1. ...And then it rains in the evening. It better not rain on the day of the concert! I'll be soaked if I have to wait in line. :(
  2. Bahah! It looks like that evil french dude in cartoons who wants to kill the lady (she's on the tracks) but someone comes to her rescue. Or looks like Mr. Monopoly with a black stache...:\:P
  3. Ahaha, so you were right after all! As they say, patience is a virtue. :P
  4. Hey everyone, my friend was reading this article in the Global and Mail and apparently Ontario is hoping to block the reselling of tickets of events in the province! I found the link to the online version: --- http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20090324.wticket0324/BNStory/National/home TORONTO — An uproar over Ticketmaster's relationship with a subsidiary ticket resale site reached Queen's Park yesterday, as the Ontario government pledged to introduce a new law to block the resale of Ontario-event tickets on the site. Ticketmaster responded by saying it's being unfairly targeted. The battle is around TicketsNow.com, which was bought by Ticketmaster last year and allows people to sell tickets above face value, known as scalping. A class-action lawsuit filed last month alleges Ticketmaster diverts tickets to TicketsNow to sell them for a higher price. Ticketmaster denies the charge saying it owns TicketsNow, but not any of the tickets sold there, and that it doesn't divert tickets. Last month, around the time the class action suit was filed, the company stopped including links to TicketsNow in the messages that pop up for unsuccessful buyers on Ticketmaster's own website. "We're just asking the folks at Ticketmaster to be reasonable," he said. "We thought that they might, of their own accord, accept our request to do what we believe is the right thing in the circumstances to protect consumers, to protect ticket buyers." Joe Freeman, a senior vice-president and assistant general counsel at Ticketmaster, said the company has acted in good faith and is willing to work with the province. He said TicketsNow is being singled out for the widespread practice of reselling tickets above face value. The practice is common in online forums and classifieds, such as craigslist.org, and other resale sites, such as StubHub.com, he said. "Everybody who lives in Toronto or across Ontario knows there are countless brokers in Toronto who constantly acquire and resell tickets," Mr. Freeman said in an interview. "We're a law abiding company. We're obviously the market leader, and we're an easy target to blame for wider issues. ... One single company should not unfairly be singled out." Jay Strosberg, a lawyer whose firm Sutts, Strosberg LLP filed the class-action suit, said the province's Ticket Speculation Act already bans the sale of tickets above face value. "I think everyone is overlooking the fact that the legislation actually exists to stop this conduct," Mr. Strosberg said. "We allege that this practice violates the legislation that exists." TicketsNow has already stopped selling tickets to events in Alberta and Manitoba because of laws in those provinces, Mr. Freeman said. Ontario Attorney-General Chris Bentley said officials at Ticketmaster took some steps to better protect consumers by no longer hording tickets. But he said the government decided legislation was needed after officials at Ticketmaster refused to stop the resale of tickets for events in the province on Tickets Now. "What Ontarians want is fair access," he told reporters. "This is about consumer protection. Consumers should not be treated any worse than they are in Alberta or Manitoba or other parts of this country." --- Finally McGuinty is doing something right, ahah!
  5. That's very true, I think the capacity is 1000, which isn't a lot if 55,000 people can fit in the dome. But my sister and I are going to go a tad early; around early to mid afternoon! Can't wait to see other real Coldplay fans!! :)
  6. Ughh, that's the downside to GA tickets. I don't think I'm going to line up that early anymore; I don't want to look like crap and be tired for the concert.
  7. Ahaha, I am not waking up before 6. I guess I'll be there around that time as well...you don't think people will be sleeping overnight there? :stunned:
  8. It doesn't matter what the number is, GA is GA. The number is basically a reference for Ticketmaster and their limit. :P Ooo, seeing as you have GA floor tickets as well, what time are you going around?
  9. Ooo, never heard of them but I'll trust you that they'll be awesome! *checks youtube for their music* :P
  10. Hey, I've never gotten a straight answer about this but when should people start lining up if they have GA floor tickets? It's my first Coldplay concert, I've missed out on them so many times that I can't even count how many. I know it's first come first serve and some even stay a night before... Thank you!
  11. Anyone know who the support act is going to be? Or has that not been announced yet...
  12. Check a few days before the concert, they release a ton of tickets they couldn't sell to ticketmaster's 'people'
  13. Green Eyes Sparks Amsterdam Trouble Basically more of their older stuff that they've rarely played! :D I also wish they played every song. Haha!
  14. Ahh there's so many songs that I hope they will play. They've been playing Green Eyes at some of the concerts in Australia; hopefully they will for Toronto! :)
  15. GOT MY TICKETS TODAY!! I basically screamed and cried at the same time.. So what songs are people most looking forward to? :D
  16. No problem! I heard that about AGO too! The building looks amazing. Anyone wanting to see amazing art, defs go to AGO! (trying to stray away and ignore the scalper angry talk :P)
  17. You would need a passport. It's mandatory now for both Canadians and Americans. :\
  18. I suggest the ROM, Royal Ontario Museum! :) x_TheSkyCouldFall, I LOVE your siggy!
  19. Haha; this board has a fascination of people being nailed to a cross... Also, section 111 is still a great place to have seats!
