This is the reply I just had from Live Nation: Dear Patron, Thank you for contacting Live Nation Customer Care with your inquiry! The sale dates for both the presale and general sale for Coldplay on 7/27 at Nikon Jones Beach have been postponed. At this point it is likely that the event will still take place, but the presale and general sale will both be pushed back a few days. Please check http://www.livenation.com periodically as we will update the new sale dates as they are determined and post them on the event page. We apologize for this unexpected delay and any inconvenience that it may cause. Please respond to this e-mail if we can be of further assistance regarding this or any other inquiry, and have a good day! Sincerely, Matt Live Nation Customer Care

I have to say that this show was FANTASTICK!!! The guys were in top form and it was well worth the almost 2 hour drive from NJ. Being almost in the front row of the Pit ROCKED. Jonny Buckland was a leap away from us, literally. If I had to chose between the 2008 arena shows I saw, which were all very good since we were right in front of the cat walk, and these smaller shows with a Pit, the smaller ones RULE!!! I don't even want to go to Jones Beach, even though every seat is great, because it has no pit, normally. Booooo!

I sent Live Nation a regular (non-Twitter) inquiry about the presale. Hopefully they'll reply quickly. They are well known for their ticket sale 'glitches' after all!! :-)

Coldplay Back in New York Baby!!!! (Win tickets to exclusive Yahoo show)
Sol5rac - So you're saying that it was NOT a random lottery chosen from all entries submitted by Oct. 15th, which is what the Yahoo email indicated? Instead, it was a 'first come, first served' type contest that awarded tix to the first 250 entries?? That is NOT what the informational email indicated. What's up with that??? I hate contests - they are never fair...

23-Jun-08: New York - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
Anyone who got to go to this FREE show, while so many of us fans did not win/get tickets, should NOT complain about the length of the set. Be happy you were there and got to enjoy a great show for FREE!! It certainly wasn't FREE for Coldplay who undoubtedly had to pay something for the venue to provide this show to you all! If you scalped tickets, sorry, but that's your mistake. By paying for tickets, you've taken away from the purpose of the show to be FREE and keep the scalpers out. Unfortunately it doesn't sound like security was able to do much to monitor that the tickets matched the winner, which is what I hoped. I would have killed to be there, but I wasn't about to pay scalpers for tickets. So instead of complaining, just smile, say thanks and provide a review rather than a complaint!

I'm totally peeved. I live in NJ and work in NYC, but didn't win tickets. It's very frustrating. I should have given my office address. Why would they not give tickets to the surrounding states from which people can drive??? :( Pleased to discover a Coldplay board exists, though! I didn't know until my husband, a lurker, told me about it last week.
