  1. Yes, i agree, but maybe call them first to check they WILL re-allocate them or whether they would agree for you to pass them onto someone else who can definitely make it on the night.
  2. i agree the more intimate the better experience you will have for it. I went to teh X&Y launch gig at the round chapel in hackney 3 years ago. It was THE BEST gig I had ever been to in my life. There were around 200 fans there. not that i really noticed, being right at the front, i didn't look back at all. I was the first in and I couldn't quite believe the stage set up. I thought the security guy had sent me through the wrong corrider and he said, no your on the floor with the band. Just seeing the instruments up, close and personal, before the boys came on and sat down and wiped their brow with the white towel, with their individual names stiched on....I could give a minute to minute account of the whole experience and the best thing is, i have it recorded forever, because it was broadcast on MTV live.. back to the point, i actually think BBC is going to be more intimate esp. if its recorded in a studio, not outdoor.
  3. poltik, phone them up and they will give you a reference number and the status of your application, i.e. whether its been successful, pending or failed.
  4. politik we share the same sentiments and yes I am going to Brixton, but after Dec we won't see them for another 3 years, so you have to grab every opportunity of living the Coldplay live experience. I'd given up hope on the BBC gig, until i phoned them and they said my application hadn't failed (which means no tickets) but is still pending (which means a BIG maybe) so to keep phone and emails swtiched on until last thing on Mon. I told them they were mentally torturing me over this process and it wasn't fair, esp. when coldplay.com had advertised it as a first come, first served process.
  5. I've just phoned the BBC again, and my application is pending. They've told me to phone back on Monday. I'm really miffed now, because I recieved my email confirmation, like many others on here, at 10.42. I'm in London next Wed for meetings and I could get over to the studios for 4.30, but I don't think I could bear being turned away from the door. I would end up on the street crying, so maybe its better if I just don't turn up at all??
  6. i need to get out of the house. I'm going for a workout
  7. Ron, the BBC usually over allocated, but I was told they haven't over allocated tickets for this gig, so maybe that's just a standard statement they put on all the letters? Perhaps get there early just to be on the safe side. what time does it start btw?
  8. politik, like you, i'm anxiously waiting. When I phoned the BBC yest. they said my application was pending? WTF, that means I don't know, but they told me to phone again this afternoon.
  9. you guys have got me terribly excited now and I can't concentrate on my work. I keep staring out of my window for the postman and I'm listening to the new album which is just awesome.
  10. well done jimbo and tamber. i'm in London for meetings on Wed and I may just pop by to check the crowds and atmosphere.
  11. now that you've won, who are going to take with you???????;)
  12. Cameo, nice one! What time did they send the email?
  13. Hey Dean, it was never a first come, first served competition. they take all the people that registered and then select the winners randomly.

  15. hey kimchi baka, glad to see your not so downbeat today. I'm one of the lucky few that won 2 tix to Brixton, however, if i was to win the BBC gig, i would offer my 2nd ticket to someone on here. Its not been pleasant reading the posts from the fans that haven't won and i genuinely feel your loss at not winning. I certainly don't take these rare opportunities for granted and I would seriously offer my 2nd ticket (if I won that is. Maybe someone is going to vet it so that people can't win both???) plus i'm a very nice person!!:D
  16. confused, but no doubt a little sigh of relief, knowing you could still be within a chance of winning 2 tickets.
  17. This is the email confirmation recieved for the Madison Sq Garden winners: Order #XXXXX This is your order number for your pair(2) of tickets to the Free Coldplay show at Madison Square Garden on June 23rd, 2008. Doors are scheduled for 7:00pm. Showtime is scheduled for 8:00pmYou will learn your seat locations when you receive your tickets in the mail. Tickets will be mailed via US Mail - Delivery Confirmation. Tickets will be mailed on or before June 13th, 2008. They will be mailed from Musictoday in Crozet, VA. You will receive a white bubble padded package in the mail. Be on the lookout! You will also receive a shipping confirmation email on the day that your tickets ship.We know we've told you before, but we're going to tell you again. DON'T SELL THESE TICKETS. We're watching and we'll catch you. Trust us! If you can't make it, email or call us. We'll find some other fan who will go in your place. Thanks again. We'll see you at the show! now this is exactly the kind of hard headed approach the Brixton gig required. and to make it quite plain and simple that if they can't make it, email or call them so that they can be passed onto another fan. well, at least we won't be seated at Brixton, like MSG.
  18. Thanks for asking for 2 complimentary tickets to Coldplay Live At The BBC, which is being recorded at BBC Television Centre. PLEASE NOTE THIS EMAIL CONFIRMS THE DETAILS OF YOUR APPLICATION. IT DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU WILL GET TICKETS. If you're successful, we'll send tickets to you before the show. If you've applied for tickets for a show that's happening within the next four days, and you're successful, we'll call or email you to let you know that your name will be on the door. When you arrive, simply speak to a member of staff.
  19. homebird, doors open at 6.30, so i'm arriving at 6ish, just in case there are queues .plus id checking will delay people from getting in, so the sooner you can get away from work the better. can't you say you have an appointment or something?
  20. the hitcher, there is no way of knowing when the BBC will be in touch with the winners. Wat we do know is that the BBC will contact at the latest, 4 days before the gig date. btw - do you know whether you're allowed to take in bags on Mon nite at Brixton? i'm coming straight from work. do you think we'll be allowed to take photos?
  21. i've been listening to Zane Lowe and some ppl txt / email saying they've won tickets for Brixton.
  22. ok, i spoke to Ticketmaster and its definitely standing, so get there in plenty of time. do you know my worry is that people have confirmed their tickets and may not turn up for whatever reason, like flights delayed etc, esp. since reports of overseas winners, thus not being much of an atmospherek I'm sure Radio 1 will be giving away tickets too. Laura and thehitcher - fancy meeting up before the show kicks off or will you be queuing and from what time?
  23. i'm on the phone to ticketmaster. waiting to find out about the seating arrangementS. I'd prefer standing anywhere, which is the norm for the more intimate gigs. btw mine says GA2 99 and GA2 100.
  24. yes, i recieved it 5min after too. maybe you should phone them. thehitcher the main ticket number is located on the right hand side and they'll be in a running order. I assumed it was all standing. I don't think anyone will be seated do you?
  25. i've only joined this forum today, but i seriously don't think we ought to be undertaking any kind of transactions with regards to tickets on these threads. Besides, most people will have someone to take with them. If my friend pulled out then i would ask another 5 or so Coldplay fans friends of mine before i offered the ticket on here for nothing. Don't assume that those of us on here will suddenly offer our tickets for £100. Of the few i've been exchanging dialogue with today are really not that narrow minded.
