This is where I tell all you fine ppl of coldplaying.com about how I fell in love with this great band called coldplay. You see I am from Pakistan so I am more into music from that area. I hardly listened to american or UK bands. There was a time there when I hated most music from the states which made me beleive that there was no good music left after the likes of bands like Oasis, U2, Greenday, Etc....including other bands I liked.
Until I came back from high school one day and turned on VH1 and saw the video of "Yellow". I thought to myself, "wow this is a great song!" Slowly after the video ended I went back to listening to other artists I enjoyed back then and forgot about the band.
After staying away from them and completely missing the "A Rush of Blood to The Head" Era I picked back up with Coldplay in college. I remember hearing "Speed of Sound" live from Coachella. A bootleg version I had downloaded. Instantly I fell in love with the piano riff and booming chorus of that song. This was before "X&Y" was released. As soon as it came out I bought it and was instantly hooked too "Fix You", "Speed of Sound", "Swallowed In The Sea", "Square One" and the rest. I specifally remember how amazing it was that you never hear the lyric "....Square one...." until the end of the song. Fell in love with the harmony on "Fix You".
Finally after hearing "X&Y" in and out I went back and listened to every peice of music they have played till date. Nowadays I am crazy for "Viva La Vida and Death and All His Friends" as I am sure many of you are. I finally get to see them live for the first time on Nov. 3 here in Detroit, Michigan. I can not wait. SO thanks for listening and share your love stories with this amazing band!
