  1. not sure how relevant this still is...or if it is correct as far as the riddle but i believe the band said something to the point of this song being about the fact that witches were burned and then thrown in the ocean......this hidden idea here is that the ghost towns are made up of the executed witches...now i could be totally off the mark with what u were aimin at...but this was on my mind....soooooo there it 'tis
  2. exactly, for me this song was my least favorite to begin, but as i kept listening, the carefree and wanton feeling becomes more and more infectious. This song is so natural that it is reminiscent of a child's innocence...almost nostalgic, a brilliant combination and wonderful song (not sure if its my fav...but it certainly sets the tone of the album, even towards the end)
  3. i am gonna go with Proof...today it is so beautiful and full of love
  4. Well Coldplay is clearly at the top...every single one of their songs is rated 4 or above on my itunes...and most are five...every song is simply an amazing work of art I would have to say that radiohead and nirvana are the two recentish bands that come close are far as every song being absolutely great...i am not sure if they are current enough, "this generation" and as stated before there simply hasn't been a lot of competition...no bands have been consistently great...i think this is somewhat a product of the itunes age...all u have to do is produce a hit single...it will sell a billion copies because of easy access online...but u dont need to produce a great album with great songs throughout b/c people are in it for the pop single...
  5. The Scientist 72- Politick 38 +
  6. goodness gracious me....my back may get sore from bowing :D okay but enuff with the sassy...lets get back to the obvious pointless and badly phrased question!
  7. i am terribly sorry! (so should i grovel now or is there specific protocol for how single digit posters should beg the merciful forgiveness or 3500+ posters after preying upon their physical frailties?)
  8. lol...u notice the big smiley at the top...simply a bit of facetious banter and yeah, i believe tricky is the intended effect...maybe not a totally worthless q?
  9. man you try to get involved and established as a fan and wham....slammed with criticism  im cryin on the inside oh, and thank you loki, for the overall indictment of this thread, i had no idea 80 posts means you're a seasoned vet that can pick us poor pointless posters that find joy in alliteration.....someone should really crucify us for the tremendous annoyance we cause with our meaningless and mundane ideas (and i apologize for such heretical things as ideas as well ;-)
  10. yes i've taken a bit of poetic license....on the second half at least but as far as the question.... hmmm well if you were to move to be given an ultimatum, you could go to a concert and never listen to coldplay again, just have that wonderful memory of them live or you could take only one cd with you as you perservere through the rest of your life which would u do I am phrasing this terribly i know....it is late and i still have a crapload of homework (most notably an analytical essay on the Iliad)....this idea was presented on another board i saw and I am sorta plagiarizing, im kinda wondering how good you think they are live being that i havent seen em yet (11/26!!!!!)....is that rush of elation worth gicing up coldplay every day on your ipod?
  11. Well I'm a noob so for all I know this post is a total retread...but i did a search and didnt find anything sooooooo...... If you had to make a choice... Would you choose to have one Coldplay CD? (either an actual album or a 12-15 song compilation of your favs) or would you choose to go to one Coldplay concert live? I won't answer yet because i want to see if this gets any response whatsoever...let's here those opinions!
  12. X&Y contains 3 of my 5 favorite coldplay songs (Swallowed in the Sea, What If and Fix You also love Til Kingdom Come) The thing about it is, as an album, I don't sit down to listen to X&Y. I could listen to AROBTHT or VLV in one sitting and they stand alone as works of art. X&Y is great to listen to the couple of songs that you love. But there are songs that will almost always be skipped! I can't say the same for any of the other three.
