  1. I'm not sure if this will post because I'm on my phone but.... If I'm remembering correctly, Burbage was the first person killed in Deathly Hallows. A professor, I think. She was mentioned out of nowhere. I remember being puzzled at the mention because there hadn't been anyone by that name mentioned until that point and they were thrown in just to kill off it seems.
  2. Alrighty, that means I haven't lost my mind then!
  3. Just took a look at that board and have to agree, the HBP movie doesn't seem as bad as I was fearing. I need to reread the books, I don't recall an attack on the Burrow at this point at all.... It's too bad they had to remove some the DADA classes and messed with the battle at Hogwarts a bit. Still looking forward to it though!!!
  4. I feel a lot less nerdy now! The exact same thing went through my mind very briefly at the same time. I adore the HP books as well as a billion of other books in general but that series is so amazing! It freaks me out when I look back to High School and realize I almost didn't give the HP books a chance because I got so tired of hearing "Harry Potter this, Harry Potter that...." It really stinks that the HBP movie got moved back to next year, though the movies just don't seem the same since OOTP. It wasn't too bad but was a little disappointing in my opinion. They seem to keep ignoring Snape, I don't see how HBP will turn out when they keep overlooking the importance of that character at this point in the movies!
  5. Thanks everyone for making me feel so welcome!!
  6. Mystik-- AMAZING graphics!! I look forward to seeing more of your creations. I'm a graphic design student and I have to say your work really knocks a lot of my own work and that of my classmates right out of the water.
  7. I wish you girls the same! Though I am new to posting here, I've been reading long enough to follow some of your exploits and I've really gotten a kick out of all of your posts this Summer. (Especially your issues with the Oracle, Angie!) I hope the best of luck keeps following all of you! Enjoy it!! :D
  8. I second that. Or third it...whatever! ApproximatelyInfinite---AWESOME sig pic!! I was so shocked with happiness when the news announced President that I burst into tears! Very happy tears!! Whoooooo!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Unfortunately our shots of the Fighting Phillies shirt were totally useless but we got these. I just KNEW that shirt would be a hit here! Whee! SO close!! That man is SO friggin' gorgeous up close! If only the camera had been faster, he'd be facing us! This one made me laugh. Will can do this job in his sleep! This one is for all of you Jonny & Guy lovers... I thought this was a neat image to catch! A bit of confetti... And that's about it....there's a few more but nothing special!!
  10. Hi!! I've been planning to post in this thread since the announcement of tour dates and now that the show is over (nooooooo!), I've finally found my way here, whew!! This was my first Coldplay concert and it was worth the wait!! My seats weren't perfect but I was just glad to be there! My experience for this show was different compared to my usual concert experiences. I chose to request Sign Language Interpreters . It was my first time experiencing a concert that way because while I don't need help following the songs, I know Chris likes to chat with the audience and change things around so I didn't want to miss a single thing from this band. All in all, it went pretty well! I was afraid I'd not be able to see both the Interpreters and the band but somehow it worked out. There were a few tense moments before the show began because there was a chance I wasn't going to be able to watch through interpreters-- it was going to be too dark!! Naturally seating for anyone wanting accommodations is placed out of the way and in the dark areas so we weren't near any sources of light. Those poor interpreters had to badger the Wachovia people to go pester Coldplays people about allowing the use of a small light to shine on the interpreters hands. At first we kept getting "No" but eventually someone worked magic and got us a light for which we were all so thankful!! They were kind enough to give us a set list as well. I was at the front of my section and from where I was sitting, I was able to shake hands with Chris. Which in turn completely caused meltingness....! I'm such a dork...though having had opportunities to meet bands before and have experiences like that, Chris is the only one who has what I call "The Stoopid Effect" on me.... sad, sad, sad...! :P The boys walked right past me to get to the C Stage so the location was worth it! I accidentally grabbed Jonny's shoulder or something... (gently, not violently--don't hurt me!!) and unintentionally ignored the other 2 because I had my eye on my target and didn't want to miss! I would have loved to have said "Hi" to all of them but they move fast! And yes I am ashamed of myself for missing Guy and Will, they were a couple of blurs!! There are pictures capturing the moment but the guys were so hard to capture. By the time photos were snapped, Chris was on to the opposite row and Johnny came out as a bloo blur. Oopsie! The music sounded great and I especially loved when Chris turned over Fix You to the audience. It was as beautiful as I'd hoped it would be that it brought tears to my eyes. It was also a thrill to get to here COL live, though I am sad it meant the sacrifice of Yes. All of the songs from Viva were everything I hoped they'd be. One of my old favorites is "Clocks" so that really knocked me out live. I was having so much fun that I ended up "singing" along to the songs in Sign Language.I usually avoid doing that at concerts because of shyness but Coldplay is such a blast!! It was amazing to finally see for myself how hard the guys worked to put on a great show, especially Chris with all of his crazy Gumby bends. The confetti was more surreal than I ever imagined it could be, totally amazing!! The butterflies blew away from my sections direction so one of the event staff who kept an eye on us was kind enough to gather a few butterflies for me. Everyone was so nice! Alrighty, enough babble!! Here is my contribution to photos from this show. The pictures aren't as good as the boyfriend and I usually take. Some turd at the Phillies Parade threw beer all over everyone and got my camera. So it got dirty and somehow stuck on certain settings so we were unable to change the shutter speed, etc. And there was the need to use phones and zoom because of the location but it's better than nothing! My boyfriend took a billion photos so I could enjoy the show. (For the record, he likes Coldplay but not as much as we do on this board.) Ya know what? I babbled about the show so much that I'm just going to make a 2nd post which will be just pictures, no babble...less scrolling...sort of! Be right back with photos!
  11. Hello everyone!! I've been reading this board forever and finally decided to get off my butt and join the madness! Now let's see... I've been a Coldplay fan since Yellow but life kept me so busy that I would occasionally lose track. No worries, I always find my way back to the music! It's my last year of college so that will be one less obstacle--whoo!! Err...what else...? Oh yeah, I'm from Ohio originally but have lived around Philadelphia for the past 4 years. Philly rules!!!!!! I can't think of much to say about myself but I guess I should mention that I'm deaf. I lost my hearing in a bike accident when I was almost 7 years old. I passed out and woke up deaf, so I have those years of hearing experience to help me make my way these days. It also helped me retain a sense of speech and as I've gotten older, am able to communicate either vocally or by using Sign. It was a weird injury, technically I could be hearing but there's something blocking my ability to access my hearing (nothing fixable, yet!) ....so what I do hear with the help of hearing aids and my knowledge of sound isn't anything like y'all hear, but it's enough! The moral of the story is to ALWAYS make sure you or your kids wear helmets while riding a bike or doing anything that could result in a blow to the head. Having said that, my hearing loss was probably one of the worst, yet best things to ever happen to me. It was a blow to lose music by normal hearing but I wouldn't change what happened... I survived and had the opportunity to meet and befriend so many wonderful people I wouldn't have met otherwise. Who could ask for more? The biggest point I want to make by saying all of that is that I truly appreciate music more than I would have before. It was my biggest passion as a kid and still is to this day. When I get a new album, I have to spend a lot of time in a quiet spot focusing on what I am hearing, get the lyrics and match it up with the things I can pick out....it's exhausting completely worth the effort!! One of neatest things, I think, is to see songs translated into Sign Language, if I can follow a song well enough, chances are I end up putting the lyrics into Sign Language while listening, On the down side, it gives non-Coldplayers more ammo against Coldplay. Can't count how many times I get "Of course you like Coldplay, you can't hear them!" Nerds. Other than Coldplay, I adore U2 and The Beatles. They're my biggest loves but I give everything a chance and like quite a variety of artists. I have an occasional weakness for some 80s rock and metal bands. Oh well!! I'm off to post some very crappy pictures (thanks to the beer throwing turds at the Parade!!) from the show at Wachovia last Saturday before that thread dies! HOLY CRAP! While typing tis last bit, the news seems to have announced OBAMA as President..........!!!!!!!! My faith is almost restored in the people again!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edited because in my excitement over Obama, I forgot to mention my name is Amber!
