Pandora's Box just looks like a Ground Control Pro with a different front chassis. Musicians would do this mainly because the Ground Control's buttons are very unreliable and short circuit quite randomly.
The LCD screen, placement, and the ordering of the buttons seem to fit the characteristics of the ground control.
However his 2005 rig, shown in the photo seems to have two layers of buttons rather than three and have 12 potential program changes. The unit also seems to lack an LCD screen which the others do have. This is probably just a looper rather than a midiunit. I could be wrong though.
