  1. It has alot of backing choirs, strings and is more pop than they have done for a while. If you like EMG and The Soft Bulletin by The Flaming Lips you should like Postcards. Got to No 3 in the end. Not bad going for a band that has been going for so long.
  2. Depends how much of a fan you are. I think they're worth it. Could do without Nicky singing the whole Of Some Kind Of Nothingness on the demo. He totally kills it! That aside, very good demos. Postcards is holding it's own against Phil Collins album so far.
  3. Listening to Some Kind Of Nothingness right now. LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! :D
  4. Some Kind Of Nothingness is just gorgeous. Ian's voice goes so well with James'. :D Lets get Postcards to No 1 people!
  5. The deluxe edition of Postcards has a shiny gold cover I believe. Shame on you Britain! It's Not War not even in the top 20! Shocking!
  6. Shame on you Great Britain if It's Not War isn't in the top 10 at least on Sunday!
  7. My ticket for Birmingham arrived today! Woohoo! My CD's from Townsend Records and Amazon haven't arrived yet so popped to HMV to get CD1 of the single. Loving the b-sides! :D
  8. It's Not War Just The End Of Love is out TODAY!!!! Woohoo! And the album is out next monday so its all go in Manicsland!
  9. I love ELO as well and you can't get more 'poppish' than them really! :D Laptop won't allow me to copy the link but there is a great video on Youtube of James Dean Bradfield singing A Design For Life karaoke fashion (from when Joe Calzaghe the boxer won an important fight and there was a big celebration for it after!). If you search under James' name with 'karaoke' added to it I should think it will come up. What a guy! Yes, can't wait for the new album. Anna Friel is also in the video for It's Not War. Heard it on the radio the other day and it sounded fantastic!
  10. Oh wow! Cool! Amazing the things you learn about your parents! :D Yeah, the It's Not War video is being based on that famous chess game from the 70's between Russian player and someone else (I think! The names have been mentioned but I can't remember at the moment!) Michael Sheen is playing the Russian I believe. Should be interesting anyway!
  11. Glad you like the new song Lizzy! All of the Richey fans I've ever chatted to have been lovely, just hear the occasional stories of fandom going too far etc but most bands probably get that I expect. Album is released on the 13th of September and the actor Michael Sheen is starring in the video for It's Not War!
  12. New Manics song from off the radio. Absolutely love it! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l03oC-oRlGw]YouTube- Manic Street Preachers - (It's Not War) Just The End Of Love[/ame] And Michael Sheen is starring in the video! Woohoo!
  13. Going to see the Manic Street Preachers on Oct 26th at the Birmingham 02 Academy all being well. Waiting for ticket to arrive!
  14. I like Richey, it's just some of his fans can be a bit overbearing at times. Most of the Richey fans I chat to on other sites are lovely though!
  15. Hiya Klaudia! No, I don't like Coldplay I'm afraid but I joined this forum cos I liked the Manics thread on it. I don't go trolling in other parts of the forum though, honest! :laugh3: Richey was the rhythm guitarist/lyricist and NOT the singer. James Dean Bradfield is the singer/guitarist and always has been. (Sorry to be narky but misinformation annoys me.) Looking forward to the Paul McCartney support slot and of course the October gigs which I will hopefully get a ticket for Birmingham for!
  16. Just waiting for the dates/venues to be announced but hopefully the Manics late September/early October for me! :D
  17. 1998 was the year music suddenly became extremely important to me. Thanks to the Manic Street Preachers! :D

  23. You don't have to get involved with them if you don't want to. Just avoid the obviously Richey orientated threads. Looks like you've got all the albums then. Great stuff! Manics are playing a gig in February at King Tuts in Glasgow to celebrate it's anniversary. Not going myself but looking forward to hearing about it.
