YAKUBU / BALACK OBAMA / GIMP LIVES HERE
now this sounds like something i could get excited about. take me in and utilise me however you please. i am willing to dedicate many things to the cold gamers popular front my time, my life, and perhaps a rather drunken impromptu karaoke session in the next few weeks LET'S DO THIS THING ... quick question, what do we do?

Do you think of Poppy Fields?
looking back on this song, it does remind me of a sunny day in a poppyfield... the vibe is really nice and you can get good imagery like that easily with coldplay. i always see nice things when i listen to them :) but i think more of poppyfields when i listen to violet hill-- on a grey day though. this is purely because my school's drama class did a speechless interpretation of war set to violet hill on remembrance day, haha :P so less of the music bringing this about and more reminding me of the scene.

What Do You Think?
i am not a fan of rap or jay-z at all. when i first heard this song i hated it so much, now i've listened to it so much i don't mind it. i like it more every time but i think i've levelled off to 'it's okay...' my ipod's currently broken so i find myself lugging around a discman and as many coldplay cds as i can safely transport... been listening to prospekt's march a LOT lately and i really enjoy the original lost! so it always makes me happy when it comes on... irks me a bit at the rap but i'm starting to enjoy it i mean, coldplay has done way too much good work to criticise them extensively for this one little slip--if you could call it a slip because it's still enjoyable music to some and i think making music people enjoy should be the goal-- and who knows, it could introduce some jay-z fans to coldplay and give them that nice experience :P as well as the other way around for coldplay fans who don't know much of jay-z but enjoyed his rap. in short, i think it really helps that lost+ is not the only version of this song-- the fact that it was a remix and i can listen to lost! without the rap whenever i want to helps. lol perhaps the comparison made me not like it, but i think knowing it was a good song in the first place helped me warm up to this version also, lost? kicks serious butt, so if lost+ was the only version there'd be another loss :P

Show Off Your Postcards for the Postcards from Far Away Project!
i sent mine yesterday (the 22nd)! bought it at a store though... a picture of a waterfall down the street from my house (i live in a backwoods touristy place) i didn't take pictures and i don't quite remember exactly what i wrote, but i just wrote as i thought, no drafts, cause i thought that'd mean more to show them exactly how i think of them... very highly!! i do remember the last line being 'thank you for making my glass HALF FULL.' :) i sent it with a 1.60 stamp... that was my only option, because the superfast mail service, i don't remember what it was called-- was something insane like 45 DOLLARS for one postcard. 'i love you, coldplay, but i only have a 20 in my wallet'. :P hopefully it will get there on time, i don't know.

hello there folks! (: about time i joined
why hello there my name is jill BUT you guys can call me holly, i'm good with either. anywayyy, a bit about me i only really fell in love with coldplay this summer, before i didn't know too much about them at all, just knew that i vaguely enjoyed speed of sound on the radio but a friend linked me to a clip of viva la vida (just the song, the video had yet to be made) and i fell in love. and now, about half a year later, i am absolutely smitten and they are by far my favourite band. they have inspired me and given me hope and a more positive outlook on life than i would've had without their music. they still continue to evoke feelings in me even now. (: since i just sent of a postcard to far away today, i figured i probably better join the site so it makes sense that i would xD thankyou for that opportunity by the way, i was delighted to be able to tell the band how i felt. it was just a storebought postcard of a waterfall near my house, but i felt really good about putting it in the mail. sooo, my name is holly/jill, i live in canada, and i obviously appreciate good music ;3 i'm sure i'll enjoy my stay.
