Prospekt's March/Poppy Fields

Prospekt's March/Poppy Fields - discussion

  1. Hello friends!!! Specially to 'The Fixer', well here is a new thread, about the meaning i give to Prospekt's March, well and here it is: The first part of the song, about "smoke is rising form the houses", I thinkit refers to the sunrise, or a moment in the morning, 'cause you know when the sun is rising in themorning, from all places it rises also a kind of "fog", I associate this to the beginning of something, maybe by the context of the song, to the change of the society, the beginning of a new era. In the next line, "people bury in their dead", it's so clear, I think it refers to the end of the "past times", because when the life of somebody ends the body is bur…

Coldplay was so close, SO CLOSE, to making a perfect song, but now I find myself wondering the same question as I did when I left their concert this year: "Is this it?". Where's the rest of the song? It was going so well: the melody, the lyrics, the chord changes, were (and are) so beautiful. But all of a sudden, the song just...well...stops. What the heck?! Are we going to have to wait for a Part II of this song too? I'm very disappointed with this song.

Okay, this is my interpretation of the song… I’d like to hear others so that I can think over my own. I think the song could be about war. War generally. Or maybe Afghanistan. Smoke is risin' from the houses People buryin' their dead I asked somebody what the time is But time doesn't matter to them yet People talking without speaking Tryin' to take what they can get I ask you if you remember Prospekt how could I forget (“Normal” life after war is slowly coming back, people burying their dead now (in mind or real). A person is asking about the time, but that’s not what people care about now. They have desperation in their eyes and hunger. Two persons are t…

The song is called Prospekt's March. The bloody EP is called Prospekt's March. The word is said once in the entire song... and I've not the foggiest idea what it means. Any speculation? Beyond that... does anyone even know what this song means? What are these drones? Quite the puzzle.

Fable II. ESPECIALLY the Poppyfields bit. Remember, for those who have played it, the dream sequence near the end of the game with the sister? It just reminds me of this song. It's a nice day out, running through crops and stuff on the farm. Haha, I know it sounds corny but you have to play the game to know what I'm talking about.

Everyone sign this and say that it should be a full length song and maybe someone can contact Coldplay and show them, and state the number they signed as #1 "I do agree that Poppy Fields should be a full length song."

I don't know if anyone has brought this up before. I was just listening to "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd and noticed some similarities between it and Prospekt's March. Two things I noticed: The guitar sounds very similar And there is a line "We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl..." similar to "We're just two little figures in a soup bowl..." Any thoughts on this?

  11. I believe the opening lines is undoubtedly & unequivocally about the The Plague that struck London in 1665 & exemplified in vivid detail in German author Hermann Hesse's book Narcissus & Goldmund. I also believed this song is art accidentally imitating life, with The Bushfires of Australia 2009, in Victoria countryside. Any takers, pundits & advocates of my daring 'in your face' opinion. I have a mailing list, c/o Mel Gibson Conspiracy Theory Fanboi Inc Corp.

  12. Just the falsetto bit at the ending reminds me of Warning Sign. Any one else hear it? I think it's a pretty nice song, not too sure about the beginning though.

Well I leave here the lyrics I deciphered from Prospekt's March song, I don't Know if they're totally correct but well if you find any mistake please correct it. Prospekt's March Smoke is rising from the houses People bury in their dead I ask somebody what the time is But time doesn't matter to them yet People talking without speaking Trying to take what they can't get I ask you if you remeber Prospekt how could I forget? Drums, here it comes Don't you wish your life could be as simple As fishes swimming 'round in a barrel when you've got the gun? Oh and I run Here it comes We're just two little figures in a soup bowl Trying to get behind a kind …

I think this question deserves it's own topic. Does anyone know why it's called Prospekt's March / Poppyfields? Everyone says something different!
