14-Mar-2009: Acer Arena, Sydney, Australia - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
Missed Thursday and Sundays show, saw Wednesday and Saturday after an amazing meet up with the band. Wednesday we stood pretty much same spot on the GA Floor as we did in Berlin, brought back so many great memories.

Awesome stuff Foxtrotoscar. Would love to see the other ones, I only managed three or four for each gig (really need that bigger memory card) I was torn as to which songs to get each night.

People Who've Seen Coldplay Live:
I've seen them for 3 show on the Viva la Vida tour and they sounded gret and played with awesome energy for each of the shows. Definitely came out of each of the shows wanting to be able to go back again.

hey thef1re, lots of luck, lots of patience and waiting in the right place (look for the truck entrance). Then you just leave it up to the band to if they want to stop and greet. Chris stopped most nights of the Australia tour from what I hear. We only stayed back once (1st Sydney concert) but I heard he stopped the following night after 3am but we were also lucky to meet the band on their way into the stadium also.

can't stop crying!
Hi Janis, I am from Australia. I was at the same show in Berlin last September, was a great show, I didn't cry at the time, but I have been emotional since leaving Berlin (what a beautiful place). Try not to fret too much, you will get the chance to see them again (sometimes unexpected, see the Syd 14th March thread). As Rita said, just be happy you have managed to see them live, not everyone gets that chance, and I am sure living in Berlin the boys will be back for a visit soon.

11-Mar-2009: Acer Arena, Sydney, Australia - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
I think Zeya's review of this show (11th March) says it all :) Only thing I can add was that it was my daughters 8th brithday present and she was well looked after by the roadies scoring some sweet memorablia which she later had signed by half the band (got the other half to sign tonight). She had an amazing time, as she did at the Berlin(o2) show last September. Tonight was a totally different kettle of fish, totally unexpected to see the show, let alone meet the band, I was dreading they would drive through without stopping after our near 5 hour wait. Has made my musical year (a definite gig highlight, and I have been to quite few). I'll post more on that in the 14th thread tomorrow sometime. Cheers btw where in Germany are you?

We also had a cool chat after the show with the dancin' roadie. Very cool, found out that Wednesday night was the first time he had ever performed the routine. He also had a rather impressive tatoo inked this morning and performed tonights routine in quite abit of pain. Lovely guy, gave the kids picks and setlists. I am lost for words as to the generousity these guys have for their fans. I'll try to upload the vids overnight (my conncetion has been a bit iffy lately. I have some vids uploaded now from wednesday night which I'll link in the appropriate thread. I'll post tonights links once they are up. :) Edit... Vids are on the way up, will add in the links as soon as they are active.

Was totally amazing, we were totally blessed to have have even met the band, my wife and I are still buzzing about the rest of the night. The only downer of the evening is I had to tell my daughter she is no longer allowed to wear her Viva La Vida shirt we bought her in Berlin as she now has all four autographs on it and I would hate to have to put it through the wash. I tried to buy her a new one after the show but they only had XL left (not a good look for an 8 year old) :) Luckily enough have a friend going tomorrow night who will be able to pick her up a replacement.

Wooooowww, First post and I am going to make it a good one..... We attended Wednesday nights show for my daughters birthday present (she turned 8) and she managed to score Will's drum skin from one of the roadies along with a set of sticks, guitar pick and setlist (gotta love being cute and little). After that show we hung around and waited for the carpark to empty out a bit and whilst waiting we managed to meet Will and a bit later Chris. She got autographs on her drum skin and sticks and had been pestering me since to take her to the city and see if we could meet them at their hotel to get Johnny and Guy's autographs. Anyway today I buckled and went to Acer in the hope we could spot the band as they arrived at the show. We arrived around 3:20 (her older brother and little sister in tow, mother an hour or so behind) and waited patiently. Around 5pm we were told the news that they wouldn't be arriving until around 7pm. We decided to wait it out on the off chance that we would get to meet the band again. Storms threatened and eventually broke, but we held out and at 7:40pm the band arrived, saw the kids waiting (and shouting) and they stopped the cars. We got to have a few minute chat with Johnny and guy, Chris was chatting with some of the other fans on the other side of the car (I'll get to that soon). We managed to get the drum skin finished off so she now has the entire bands autographs on it :0 is very cool. Anyway (and I can't thanks the other fans enough) fate/luck reared it's head when Chris asked the other guys about the nights show and they mentioned that we didn't have tickets we were all just there to meet them. Chris said he would sort us out, and within a few minutes, Chris' security guard came up to speak with us all, and brought all 8 of us Gold reserve tickets for the nights show. Amazing!!!! We were all just happy to have had the chance to meet them, this was totally unexpected and so appreciated. The wait was already worth it, this was such a generous thing for Chris to have done, totally mad my families night. So any way, got to watch what was another great show totally out of the blue. Yes Warney made a strange appearance when the band played in the bleachers and no he can't play Maraccas at all. Was still good for a laugh though. Setlist (yes we scored memorabilia again, 3 cute kids in tow this time) Life in Technicolor Violet Hill Clocks In My Place Yellow Speed of Sound Cemeteries of London 42 Fix You Strawberry Swing Talk (dance version)/God put a smile (B) Hardest Part (B) Postcards from far Away (B) Viva La Vida Lost Green Eyes © I'm a Believer © DWNC © pretty sure this was skipped Viva Remix Politik Lovers in Japan Death and all his friends The Scientist Lif in Technicolor 2 (The Escapist) Will post some youtube links up soon :)
