Burial was nominated for the Mercury prize :surprised: Which is amazing considering the album was made by some lonely guy on a shitty computer :P The XX are pretty cool but not too amazing. I also REALLY hope they don't release anything more. It's perfect the way it is. Just like the Young Marble Giants.

I certainly don't remember even reading your post. I have talked about this topic with other people and i was probably just referring to something someone else had said. I was just being silly when I said FUCK DAT OLD SHIT. I was getting bored with my argument so i said I prefer newer music to older music...in a weird way. WHAT I'M SAYING IS I like the Beatles and I respect them and their influence on a lot of artists/modern music. I think that Burial's first album had the same effect on the electronic and especially the dubstep scene that the Beatles' albums had on the pop/rock scene at the time. Obviously it is not as significant, it's not like we're going to see rock bands with clear Burial influences (except maybe Radiohead...Thom seems to be obsessed with that post-dubstep thing) ehh

I was thinking in terms of experimentation/revolutionary/influential shit as I feel this album was just as important to the electronic music scene as The Beatles' albums were the the pop/rock scene. I myself (my opinion) put the album up there with The Beatles' albums (my opinion). sorry you have to be such an idiot :)

Hahahaaha, I would have gone to the Unknown Pleasures show here just cos, but I looked at the videos and he actually stops playing bass when he sings :blank: I like reunion tours/shows. I dislike it when they get back together and make new material. It never works.
