as for in reprise, i don't think jonas himself so wanted children of his own... :thinking: he did say meaning and symbolism were two different things and that their songs have both. i think it means something else, maybe he had dreams and things he wanted so badly to experience, but never will. we all have those things, our regrets in life... what if we had done it differently? maybe he is singing to the youth in his life? johans son? younger friends? ect... hold on to me could be "listen to what i say, trust what i tell you." i so wanted children of my own "i really wanted to have this "child" in my life, but it is too late for me, don't do as i do" lift your head, don't forget, you are love "don't give up, don't have doubts" ???
