Oakland, California Passes Marijuana Tax. Should Pot Be Legal?
You're missing my point. They're not now, but in the hypothetical situation which we're discussing, a company would be more than happy to open up a position for a qualified employee.

Oakland, California Passes Marijuana Tax. Should Pot Be Legal?
No, I don't, hence why I oppose taxation.

You like anarcho-capitalism? That's like the polar opposite of your stated views...

Oakland, California Passes Marijuana Tax. Should Pot Be Legal?
From a job? I didn't say that if the company wasn't paying you enough you should just become unemployed; that would be retarded. You'd just go to a company which was paying you better. Much like a lot of people do now...

Oakland, California Passes Marijuana Tax. Should Pot Be Legal?
You'd be paying for it through increased taxes. You're missing the point; the government has to get their money from somewhere and that somewhere is the taxpayers. Even if you didn't need to go to the doctor for a year, you'd still be taxed for that year. How would you feel if the government were FORCING you to pay for other peoples' health insurance?

Oakland, California Passes Marijuana Tax. Should Pot Be Legal?
Uh, yeah, it would be. The economy goes through natural prosperous periods and recessions; the problems that caused the current recession wouldn't even be relevant within an anarchy.

Oakland, California Passes Marijuana Tax. Should Pot Be Legal?
I remember you saying earlier that you were for capitalism. Yet, universal healthcare eliminates the capitalism involved in the existence of private health insurance companies. Even if the option for private insurance were left open, the fact that people would be taxed for universal healthcare regardless of their insurance choice would cause people to flock to the insurance they're being forced to pay for, leading to a government-held monopoly.
-
Oakland, California Passes Marijuana Tax. Should Pot Be Legal?
People would be free to move away from jobs which weren't adequately paying their employees, wiping out companies which didn't pay their employees enough to convince them to stay.
-
Oakland, California Passes Marijuana Tax. Should Pot Be Legal?
The mere concept of socialism involves the government taking away some of your personal liberties for the greater "good."
