I went to Sacramento's Tower Theatre tonight to see our beloved boys. Took the bus at 5.16h, had to switch to another bus and was finally there at 6.30pm, one hour before the concert - just in case, if maniac coldplayers would have decided to storm the cinema. They didn't. All in all it was maybe 30 people in the huge, old school movie theatre at the beginning of the show. The sound wasn't that great - especially in the beginning - so I'm looking forward to playing the bluray on my big tv with the good sound system in my livingroom :D I had a tough day so I was just happy to fall back into the chairs and enjoy the movie without any singing, dancing and clapping. Luckily, all the other people in the theatre decided to enjoy it in quite admiration too. During GPASUYF the picture suddenly went black and we could only hear the sound. Took a little while until they had fixed it so we got to listen to that awesome live rendition twice - but only SAW it once :laugh3: I was 100% certain that Roadie 42's guitar head camera video would make the cut and there it was, during the last interview bit. Loved the intermissions whereas with other concert movies I don't like them, find them disrupting and skip them usually. Here they were woven into the matter nicely, all in all the movie is filmed, cut and edited superbly, absolute top notch. But what else is to be expected from our beloved boys? I really loved the grainy, dirty Violet Hill at the smaller venue - the energy was breathtaking. All in all the whole movie is powering through some really exhausting 90 minutes. I kind of missed a spot to catch your breath besides the interview snippets and maybe UATW. Warning Sign really would have helped here - what a shame it didn't make the cut. :\ I thought Viva la Vida could have been a little better, maybe taking Glastonbury's version wasn't the right choice there. It's still awesome though, I'm complaining on very high standards here. Before I saw the movie I was very skeptical about showing different venues in one concert movie but I think, again, they did that in a very nice and charming way and it wasn't disruptive at all. This movie has moments to laugh, moments to cry (for joy, love or sentimentality) and during these moments I just sat there with a huuuge grin from one ear to another, shivering of goosebumps again and again. This is a must-buy for everyone who loves good music, colours and terrific editing. And probably the best concert dvd out there (although, Led Zeppelins The Song Remains The Same is pretty good too - as is David Gilmours Remember That Night)

Stripping handpuppet!? Need your help!
Hey guys, you seem all so very friendly to me, so I wanna ask you for a favor. i'd really like to go to the US and study in california. since that is quite expensive, i applied for a scholarship. and i will get this scholarship, if a lot of people like my application on facebook! i even produced a little video with a hand puppet - it is in german, but maybe you'd still like it ;-) i would be sooo grateful if you took only a little moment to visit http://bit.ly/GEaxe1 and click the green button at the end of the page. it will send you back to facebook, where you can declare that you don't want the application to interfere with your postings. then it will send you back to the scholarship homepage, where you only need to hit the green button again. that's it! you would make me very happy!

Don't know wether I'll have time (and talent) to translate the whole thing to English...

Oh wow. That was the best concert I've ever seen, hands down. So many nice surprises, so many overwhelming effects, the band were as good and as loud as I've never heard them before. Chris was highpowering through the 100 minutes, sang really great. Love the Xylobands! Audience went bonkers when they turned on. Where I stood the audience was really great. Everyone going nuts, singing along and having a good time! I got to the venue at 6pm. Actually I'm really sick and only medicaments could bring me on my feet, thats why I was so late. But nevertheless I found a good spot in the 2nd row at the left corner of the stagewalk, right in the middle of everything. For the concert I forgot about my condition and sang along, jumped, clapped, yelled - everything :laugh3: Today I have the biggest throat pain I've ever head, my ears are still numb and every single move hurts everywhere. But during the concert all of that was gone, the music had a (shorttime) healing function and I was sooo happy! I don't regret anything, alone the moment where the Xylobands turned on was worth the money and trouble. Setlist was great, a good mixture and the live versions of the MX-songs made me like them more, before I was kind of sceptic regarding a couple songs. Only song I didn't really care about was Up In Flames, they could have done Princes of China with the supporting act (who was quite good, really!) instead. But again, that's only my personal taste  All in all it was an astonishing, remarkable, over-the-top awesome night and I'm thinking of buying tickets for next years' stadium concert in Cologne. I fear, though, that the venue last night was more suitable for this kind of concert than an open-air stadium...

Your favourite song out of Coldplay's Glastonbury 2011 performance? :Poll Added:
Wow really? :shocked2: I thought the guys were very uncomfortable with Hurts Like Heaven in the beginning - to me it didn't work at all as the opener! Absolutely loved to hear Shiver live again, ETIAW surprised me positively and GPASUYF was AWESOME too. Actually like 80% of the songs were perfect and lovely, so it's hard to pick the one... :)

Was this Coldplay's best ever Glastonbury?
:shocked2: What?! That crowd was outstanding! The performance was NOT flawless as someone said earlier - especially the beginning was shaky and unfocused. It seemed to me like the boys aren't comfortable with Hurts Like Heaven yet - that opener did not work at all. But from there it only got better and more awesome and undescribably fantastic - a firework of highlights in almost every song. Nice setlist, although I would've loved one more song from the VLV era - like LiTii or Yes... Loved to hear Shiver again and GPASUYF in that great version! And I actually do like ETIAW now after first I was a little pessimistic. But that live version was a kicker and a powerful ending of an unforgettable performance. Oh, which Glasto was best? I'd say 2011>2002>2005 but only because 2002 was sooo special and important for the development of the band!
