You indeed are very lucky. :nice: Is he even cuter today? :cheesy: Oh nice! My friend in the US likes to use 'Aussie' words when we chat/message.

I'm pretty sure I was never even asked. Things like this take time to change - but you have to start somewhere. Being the mother of an 8 year old boy I've spent a fair bit of time in boys change rooms during swimming lessons. Little boys just love to run around naked, and they're absolutely hopeless at drying and dressing themselves. :dozey: I only know of 2 boys that are circumcised, and one of them was because his dad was. At this age I don't think there's any teasing going on of the boys that are - and hopefully there won't be. You're welcome. As for the yeast infections, I've never had one, it would have to be tied in with proper hygiene. I completely understand about the peer pressure given where he will be raised. I would say that it is just so routine that many mums probably wouldn't (I love how you used mums and not moms :P). I'm glad that you took the time to give this serious thought rather than just follow the norm. Whichever way you choose to go, ultimately I'm sure you will do what you feel is the best for Liam.

Ok, it's a big one. I think the peer pressure thing plays a large part of why non religious parents have their boys circumcised. They don't want him to look different from his peers, and therefore have the potential to be ridiculed for it. Also peer pressure from the parents peers, because they are going against the norm. I kinda figure if you're born with it it's there for a reason. I imagine it would be like the clitorus not having a hood to keep it protected. Ouch. Wouldn't being circumcised desensitise the penis? To have all of the nerves continually exposed, continually rubbing against material, would surely not be as comfortable as having it be protected inside the foreskin. Plus there's also the obvious sexual advantages. No need for lubricants or whatever if you're enjoying 'alone' time, therefore no way of ending up like Jim in American Pie when he grabbed the super glue instead! So what about the people you know that aren't? Were they teased? And I thought you were from Argentina. :inquisitive: My friend is from Virginia, and apparently all boys are circumcised there - it's just the way it is. That would probably only be because women in the US are used to circumcised penises. Well there you go, Liam won't be the only uncircumcised boy in the family if you choose not to. Because it's accepted as being the norm. You would think the added pleasure for sex would be reason enough to not go messing with it. Also, you're now making all the guys on here that aren't circumcised feel like there penises are ew. :whip: What state are you in? It looks like it varies greatly from state to state. Perhaps your state is more 'evolved'.

Brothers of older sisters are often cajoled into wearing fairy dresses, playing with dolls or given makeovers. :P When my son was really little I gave the kids twin baby dolls - one boy, one girl. He loved his little baby. :nice: I'd rather he was open to that side just as much as playing with trucks and playing in the mud. They are! And with the outfits they wear they look like hookers. Haha, I bet you were tripping too!

That's what I assumed about the US too, but I've been informed by a friend that it's still pretty routine there - at least in the state she lives in. I guess the father would want the son to look the same as him, and I understand you wouldn't want your son to be the only different boy in the changeroom. But I still disagree with it. Gee Reilly. The first male poster and that's all you have to say? :dozey:

Ouch. :freak: So do the parents choose to wait until the boy is old enough to decide for himself? Or is there another reason why it isn't done until later? Actually, in my anti natal class there was an Aussie guy married to a Filipino woman. They knew they were having a boy, and he didn't want him circumcised - but the wife won that one.

Serious thread people. :whip: Is the US the only place where it is still routine to perform circumcisions on baby boys, or is it still the norm in other parts of the world? I'm in Australia, and as far as I know it's pretty much dying out over here. I have a son who isn't circumcised, and I don't think I was even asked when he was born. Also, as far as I know, the majority of my friends with boys didn't have them done either. I'm personally against it, but each to their own I guess.

That would have a lot to do with the fact that there isn't really any gender related stuff for guys to even bitch about. Yeah, I've done that. :shifty: I totally read that as "I don't mind talking about it provided I'm not eaiting it"!!! I would be doing it to subdue him for other reasons. :sneaky:

It can happen - BUT, do not rely on it as a form of contraception!!!!! Unless you want to be pregnant with your second beautiful baby when Liam is only a few months old. :freak: This has happened to a couple of people I know.
  17. You're a 5 Greggles :sneaky:

I like french manicures on natural nails. The long fake ones look tacky. But I think it looks stupid when the woman has really short nails, so in order to make it look like she has longer nails they paint a longer tip which then makes the rest of the nail look short and stubby.
  23. AusKT replied to Cobalt's topic in The Lounge
:laugh4: I broke a nail. Not. Happy. Not because I have perfectly manicured nails (I can't stand those fake french nails) but it's just a pain in the arse.
  24. Almost on page two :shame: I wonder if he has the waffle maker? :cheesy:
