When I was 18 I used to do window washing & during the holidays, light hanging for local businesses & homes. I would go out late night drinking with my friends (fake ID at the time) & just stay up overnight since work started at 5am. Tired / Drunk / Hung-over, I must have fallen off my ladder over 20 times. One time in particular I was hanging up lights in this nice development, on the second story roof, stapling away, when rain clouds moved in & started pouring on me. Being stubborn, I continued to finish my window frame as my co-worker packs up the truck, telling me to fuck it & finish the job tomorrow. Right as I say, “… Just let me finish this line”, a lighting bolt shoots down so near me I freak out, lose control & tumble off the roof onto the hard concrete below. Needless to say, I fucked myself up pretty bad & took a couple days off. If we really are doing a Clumsy award, I think I should be in the runnings!

Bah, what's all the negative talk? No one's a loser. You may envision a “perfect self” that you don’t quite meet, but it's all relative. To the people that count, you will be respected for who you are. I haven't been around long, but I've definitely noticed everyone here has something special about him or her. So stop it with the self-putdowns!!!.

I wear Birkenstocks like nothing else exists. I wear them with socks or without. I go to work in them (if possible), to school, even when I plan to be active. Most don't know the true serenety that comes with Birks until they try them (the real kind, not that Target rip-off shiz). If I'm not wearing Birks, you may find me with some Converse or Skater-Type shoes, though that's a rare occurance. You??

I work at Chili's Bar & Grill, serving unhappy customers with a fake smile for 4 hours a night, 6 days a week. It's getting old, I think I need a better job. :confused:

Gah, confront your fears & you'll notice nothing's as bad as you first thought. Just talk to him.. You may find out it's Ed McMan wanting to give you $1,000,000 dollars, but whenever he calls, the household either doesn't pick up or hangs up on him >.<!!

Jeku's outlook - Amsterdam This song makes my heart beat at an unsteady pace. I guess I’ve gone through the same shit that most do when they grow up, but this song brings it all home. Since high school, & a sloppy divorce between the parents, I grew some wings & flew away. I’ve been moving around from place to place, taking what I can from every situation & learning from every mistake. I now spend my days back where I started, a few years older, maybe more mature, but still lost & on my own. I now yearn for a companion. Of course I still have good friends & family contacts, but I feel the need for something more. A girl friend, my soul mate, someone new that’s willing to take the time to hear my story & open up enough to let me hear theirs. I am a true believer, that to keep a healthy relationship, both people need to be strong & confident; then together they can achieve greater heights from a bright aura that’s created between them. If you don’t have this, one person’s problems becomes the others, and the two together will have trouble progressing like a good relationship should. This is what I’ve seen in past relationships of my own & in others. I am not together, but I want to be. This song sheds light on my situation, & makes me believe that maybe I’m more complete than I think, and the only piece of the pie missing (or most of it) is someone special & honest to share my life with. I need someone to love. The lyrics may indicate a different message to most, but this is how it hits me. I look forward to reading other's outlooks!

I had an idea that may help the community connect a bit more. Maybe this type of thing has been done before, but I’m new here so sue me! This first post will be entitled with a Coldplay song (We can make more if this one takes off at all). I'm going insert some paragraphs at the end of the subject post, to hide the replies. This is only until you post an untainted (meaning, you have not read others feelings before posting your own) message describing the unique emotions, connection, whatever that comes along with the featured melody, when you listen to it. For the first, I’m choosing a personal favorite; Coldplay – Amsterdam . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

When I say Bay Area, I’m referring to the San Francisco Bay Area. I’m about 25-30 miles south/east of the city, in a small town called Danville. It’s great here, I love it.

I have a terrible habit of putting my hands together & suctioning them, unintentionally making a similar noise to that of a hand in the armpit. Usually this sound is made at an already awkward moment, which makes things even more awkward, especially when without thinking I increase the speed out of nervousness & the weird habit becomes that much more obvious… I gotta start doing the arm thing.

Hehe, I wish it were 9pm here, I hate ending the night. - I do pretty much nothing as well, I basically spend all my time at a local Peet's Coffee & read books. I also work at *Chili's Bar & Grill* full time, but it's not really work since I'm around great people, who I really enjoy. During these nice summer nights if I can rally some friends, I really enjoy taking night hikes too; though that doesn't seem to happen nearly often enough.
