Spanish rain/DLIBYH?
Really? Personally I thought of Spanish Rain right away when listening to Charlie Brown.

The evolution of Coldplay
Returning to a Parachutes-ish sound would really be awesome! Though I'm very excited what new stuff they'll bring, so that's what I'm rooting for :)

The evolution of Coldplay
Wow, such a long time since I was active on this forum, but since Coldplay started posting all the video teasers for the song I just couldn't help myself. I find it fascinating that people have such various opinions about this song. I too was one of those people who believed that LP5 would turn out as a mainly acoustic album, following in trail of Spanish Rain, Death will never conquer etc. However, this didn't surprise me at all. The result of ETIAW feels like they followed through with the experimenting they did while producing VLV. This sounds a lot like the songs that never made it to the album, like A spell a rebel yell and Lukas (Resemblence to Lukas is not obvious, I mostly think about the break in the songs) I'm not sure whether I like this evolution of Coldplay or not. I think I will have to listen to the whole album before I can make up my mind about that. What I do love though, is that they DO change. This is not the same Coldplay that wrote Yellow or Fix You, nu-uh. But it would be way worse if they kept on producing the same old tunes over and over again. The fact that they keep changing from every album and experimenting with new sounds is one of the reasons I like their music so much. They're daring and brave. They know that whatever they produce will be reviewed by reporters, critics and, most importantly, fans all over the world. And they dare to change and try new things. Compare to the rest of the music that's being made these days, and admit to yourself - that's a pretty great thing to do.

Rate 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' now!
Me too! A spell a rebel yell, and a hint of the break from Lukas too!

Do you think 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' will be on LP5?
Off topic: I think it's great, actually, that they've released a song not everyone goes CRAAZY about. It shows that they're creating new stuff, and that they aren't afraid of producing things that won't associate to their previous material. In the end, that is what makes Coldplay Coldplay; they never stop evolving. OnTopic: Judging from the comments on WikiColdplay, "Further to the November 2010 Q article[2] revealing the inspiration behind Coldplay's fifth album being old school American graffiti and anti-Nazi movements, Chris Martin spoke to The Sun about some of the tracks within said album." it sounds to me as this song fits in pretty good.

Jezabels use piano riff from DAAHF?
Haha am I the only one who thinks it sounds more like Lukas than DAAHF? :D

LP5's Style?
Looking at the last couple of songs they've "released" or performed, like Death will never conquer, Spanish Rain, A message 2010 etc, I think they're going for the more acoustic/folk kind of music. Like Chris says on the Leftrightleftrightleft album before playing DWNC: "This is the moment of the concert when we show you how good our band really could have been.." Also, by looking at the pictures from R#42's blog you can see them in the studio in the same line-up as when they perform these songs, with 3 guitars and 1 bass. That's my guess =D

Pleased to meet you, now how do you do?
Haha they don't =O if you're still hungry after the meal you ask for some rice, that's pretty much it (at least in the places I've been, it's a big country and I'm sure the custom varies)

BBC6 Music: EMI says Coldplay 2010 album release is UNTRUE
I'd say that Coldplay wanted to start the rumours and raise the expectations for the next album. But there's obviously something in the EMI - Coldplay relationship, this was almost as to mark that the band can't go around saying anything they want, that the label is still in charge. Dunno why though, just made this whole thing so much bigger than it should've been.

Auction house in Sweden - Guess what they're auctioning out?
haha wtf, my eyes must have blanked out while reading that, thought i searched the article thoroughly :embarrassed:

Auction house in Sweden - Guess what they're auctioning out?
The translation is as said directly from google translate, so to clerify there is only ONE clock. Each member of the band got a clock just like that, but with individual colors. So the clock for sale is a uniqe one, previously owned by a Coldplay member. Doesn't say who though

Pleased to meet you, now how do you do?
The swedish workes will probably not go to china. As a boss, who would you rather hire? A person who demands at least 3,100 USD/month and expects social security or someone who'd go with 670 USD? ^^ nah but I really don't know much about this, from my side it's mostly speculation. About the fortune cookie; I've never ever seen one in China. Ever. Quite disapointing actually ^^

If Coldplay did a live session for just you...
can't get enough of Clocks, ey?
