I always thought this would be a great song to do an acoustic version of. Found this (defs unofficial) stripped down mix of ETIAW and it seems I might have been right! Some of it might be stripped down a little too much in my opinion, but when that acoustic guitar and the drums kick in I fall in love with this song all over again!!! So I was thinking about it, and I now feel that this song is more than a sappy "i luv mah muzics zo im gonna dance" song. Some of the lyrics seem trite, but there seems to be a deeper meaning (to me). I feel that this song has something to do with the joy of protesting something and finally being recognized, even in a negative way. Many people would gladly spend a night in jail if it means getting their beliefs across. This song brings to mind protests against racism/war/for educational reform in the 60's. People would get beaten up, humiliated, and degraded by authorities, but they wouldn't have it any other way. I think this song says that in the joy of that moment, …

Ok, so I'm new on this remix thing, It's not really good, but I'd love if you tell me what you like and what you don't like about it. I really need an answer to this because I think it's one of their greatest efforts as a band. There's a reason why they released it in time for festivals; it's tailor-made for live shows. It's four minutes worth of euphoria condensed into soaring melody and pounding rhythm. It's not written for fans to look at and admire the songcraft, it's simply to get you dancing when you see it live. I understand that that's not what Coldplay have done in the past, and that for a lot of fans, they'll prefer the old stuff, but can we just accept that this is a brilliant live moment, even if it isn't a great recorded one?

UPDATE: And finally the confirmation at Coldplay.com that the single Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall will be released this Friday (between Saturday and Sunday for UK :( )! The first i lestened to this song and found out they sampled Allen i was all wtf why would you do that ?create your own stuff ***** ,but then i realised that the my favorite part of the song is not the part sampled and that i really like how the whole song goes: now im just addicted to it ! Anyone had the same or is it just me ???

I remember watching an interview online where Chris talks about the meaning behind ETIAW.About how its means turning something negative into a positive.A tear into a waterfall.Until I heard this explanation I didnt quite understand what the title meant or what to make of it.I think by understanding the meaning of the title it helped me understand the song better as a whole.I often asked myself what the hell does ETIAW even mean.I think a lot of people just by looking at the title think its a cheesy Coldplay title.But I quite like the explanation and metaphor.I like the message its trying to convey.

IT WAS GOING TO BE RELEASED IN NEW ZEALAND AT 7AM WHICH IS OUR 9AM FUCK THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Despite previous articles saying ETIAW will be the album closer, there is more and more opinion that this song is a one off release for the festivals and all the summer stuff. Do you think it will make LP5 or is this a standalone track?

I've been following a lot of the performances they did over the past summer and onwards, but I'd have to say this first (if I'm not mistaken) live performance of ETIAW at Rock am Ring is pretty darn good! Of course, the crowds wouldn't have been as familiar with it, but in terms of the performance, Chris didn't sound too bad for the last song of the night. The rest of the band chimed in well too. Thoughts? Any other opinions on which performance was above the others? (I apologize if this thread is redundant, i don't see another one like this.)
